Default The cost of tonights dinner

This is the breakdown for the cost of the dinner I served tonight. I don't normally figure out the cost of meals, but I got some good deals and wanted to see what the cost was. Hope to do it more often. (do a breakdown of cost)

The protein part was two stuffed flounder fillets (yummy by the way)
they were 1.99 for two in a pkg. I had a coupon for 1.00 off the box. end cost .99

Two stuffed salmon fillets (tasted okay, liked flounder better) They normally are 2.49 for two fillets had another 1.00 off coupon so the end cost was 1.49.

Protein part of meal (4 stuffed fillets) $2.48

veggie-roasted cauliflower, yellow squash, sweet onion

    head of cauliflower $1.29
    3 pkg yellow squach .79
    sweet onion .20
    --------------------------
    Total veggie part $2.28

    Starch part
    baked sweet potatoes

3 large sweet potatoes .99 ( cut two in half)

    salad

    lettuce .99
    olives 1.05
    croutons .25 (reg price1.49 bogo .75) USED 1/3 BAG
capers .10 1.49 JAR (used 1/20th of jar)
    dressing .25 just guessing
    ---------------
    TOTAL $2.64

    protein $2.48
    veggie 2.28
    starch .99
    salad 2.64
    ---------------
$8.39 divided by 4 meals and one lunch for dh=$1.68 each.

not too bad. Dh lunch will include a portion of all of the above.

nice job breaking all this down.

I think it's good to see it in black and white sometimes.

I always try to do the math on my meal....I'm just no good at it but am glad you were able to show the breakdown of your meal.

$1.68 for a nice salmon dinner...won't hear me complaining!

    Great job!
