Missed Period
It still isnt here. I have never been late, so being a week late to me is a big deal. I did home pregancy test-neg. Blood test at clinic- quanative- neg. I spotted two lil spots of blood in my discharge 3 days before my period was due. I take birth control, but another medication I am on makes it less effective. Ive read online of ppl's blood tests not showing postitve until they were 3 months preg. Anybody have any experience on this? I know im stressing and shouldnt be but its on my mind

I know some birth control make your period very light/short or not even come at all some months. Could that be the case here?

Also, stress and illness can also make you late. As far as I know, blood tests are usually pretty accurate with diagnosing pregnancy early on (before three months). Have you seen a doctor yet?

I know that when I started a new medication for migraines about four years ago I missed my period the first month. I thought I was pregnant, but wasn't after taking some tests. Now this last time I missed my period by a couple of weeks and took an over the counter test I was pregnant. That was planned though so if you have been taking tests and they are negative I would say you are ok. To be on the safe side maybe you should just take another test in a week or two.

I've always been told that tests aren't going to be accurate until you are more than a month along. I say it is too early to worry. These things happen, but stay on top of it.

I am 3 months late now...I am really scared but no health insurance. I just recently this week got stressed so I know its not stress for me. I am usually late but only about a week...now its 3 months?! I also tested with a neg result...
I am in the same boat as you, except I am not on many BC.

I had this happen once when not pregnant. I saw my doctor about it, and she said sometimes you just 'skip' a month, even if you take birth control. She was only going to worry about it and order tests if it happened 2 months in a row, or more than 3 separate times in one year.
I've also on the other end been pregnant and had negative blood and urine tests. I had to wait until I was 8 weeks along, and doctors could actually see a little dot in an ultrasound for them to believe that I was actually pregnant and not off my rocker.
Hang in there, if you really feel something is wrong, don't be afraid to tell your doctor and demand further tests.

I would proceed as if I were just to be safe. No alcohol, vitamins, eat right, get rest. Watch what meds you take. Skip otc meds if possible. You can miss a period just because. When I was having periods I often missed July or August? Why?? My friend stopped her because she was exercising too much (cycle club). It could be a hormone balance. Stress. All kinds of things. Did you test morning urine. That has the most hormone. It may be too early. Was it an old test?
Erring on the side of caution is best. Relax and take care of yourself.

frugalwarrior2 is right. There are many things that can make you late. I'd wait another week or two and test again if you still haven't started. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I'm almost 50 and going through the spotting a week before, and when I"m late by a day or two I start fretting because I've always been right on time. Is being pregnant something you want? Just asking since this could be an added stress.
Ashley, I agree, if you have access to a free clinic use it. There could be something wrong. Not trying to scare you but 3 months is a long time to go without knowing what is happening with your body.
Sending hugs and prayers for both of you. Let us know how things turn out for both of you.

When I was 25 I only had two periods in an entire year. Talk to the doctor, but don't panic, sometimes things just get messed up for really simple reasons (or no reason).

AnW819: I googled and found this website. I don't know what city you are from but there was a whole list of cities in New Jersey. I clicked on one and it showed a list of available FREE medical clinics. Good luck and I hope you get the results you want.

I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point. Just be careful as a precaution.. no drinking, take a multivitamin, etc. I had my son november 2007, period was normal until March 2008 when we had our accident. I wasn't hurt, but for 6 months after my periods were really messed up. I would skip one or it would be 45 days in between, etc. I did go to the doc but she didn't seem concerned. I was told by the one nurse that it was probably because I was getting older (ripe old age od 32! lol) or because the body changes after we have more changes. Anyways..... I just didn't worry about it when it wring. It's finally back to something close to regular, although some months they are 30 days between and others 40.
Stress can be a very big factor. if you are stressed right now (you may not even be fully aware you are stressed) just wait it out a little longer. It will probably come soon.
