I like reading websites like this one. Of the 4 sections, I have read one so far. When I get done reading them all, I will go back again at some time, and read them all over again.
Back then, there was not programs like there is today to help people down on their luck.
I really felt sad for the people who lost their money when the banks crashed. Especailly the one who was a widow with 3 kids and lost her money from the insurance her husband had.

When we are able to buy some more ink for the printer, I am going to print all of those stories and keep them in my "frugal binder". I think that if I were to make a second copy,I would make it into a Christmas present next year for my mother

thanks for the link. I will send this to my neice. She is part of the Me generation and is always complaining how rough she has it as she watches her new flat screen TV.

Lady what an awesome site. My tears are welling up - I have grown up on the stories of the Depression from my Memom.

    Gotta give her a call. . . . .

You know I just printed all of them and I am also going to add them to my frugal binder, reading these stories makes me so grateful for living in this period of time and keeps me from whining about the "frugal" sacrifices which I am making to get out of debt.

I love reading stories about the depression. I heard them all the time when my grandparents were alive. I never got tired of the stories and still don't and probably never will.
