Default Oh Rotavirus just go away

Well the rotavirus has hit our home.. I know this a gastro virus that hits little ones pretty hard. My kids had it when they were babies and put in the hospital. Well adults can get it to. My hubby started getting sick last night vomiting, dirreah, chills.Couple hours later my grandson starts it. He is 2. I woke up with it at 4am, i got it worse because of my pancreas issues. I get a call from my daughter thats 24 she has it now.She is the one with the 2 yo. So im waiting for the 5 yo grandson to get it and my 14 year old to get it..Thank goodness we have 2 bathrooms. But its making its way to a town near you.

Several people here were really sick for a couple days. Wonder if that is what it was...that's all we need, or anyone else for that matter.

Oh, I SO feel for you, Nana!

DS11 got it when he was 14 months old and was sick with vomiting & severe diarrhea for the first 24 hours, and when I took to the doc, they thought it was just a stomach bug - said to bring him back if he wasn't better in 24 hours. So the poor little guy went another 24 hours with vomiting & diarrhea (and me with washing and washing and washing clothes, blankets and everything else he anointed). When I took him back to the doc the next morning (I was NOT letting him go another 24 hours with this stuff like they said!), they finally diagnosed Rotovirus. The problem was that they also heard the tell-tale crackling & popping of pneumonia in his lungs - which meant he aspirated some of the vomit into his lungs. So on top of being dehydrated from not being able to keep any liquids in his body, now he had pneumonia. He was in the hospital for a week with that one!

Please watch the little ones (and yourselves!) for signs of dehydration! Get better soon!

Yea i know all to well of the aspiration. My son had it several times when he was a baby. Kept my daughter home today. She was still throwing up. She is NEVER sick. But i know if she would have went, they would have had to call me. So i made her stay home, she didnt want to .

Rotavirus is NASTY!! Once you have smelled that smell, you never forget it. And, having had it once...they will probably get it every year. But our ped says nothing like the first time. Milder cases after the first exposure, but still NASTY!

I hope everyone is better soon.
