    new member 09.12.05

    First time on this site, hoping to learn and participate.

    How did you hear about frugal village? surfing, searching for info on DIY residential solar retrofit options

    What interests you here? in general (from what I've seen so far) the fact that there are people wanting to discuss and share ideas about living frugally, whatever that means to each of us

    What will you contribute? have a hard-earned wealth of practical knowledge and experience to draw on to solve a multitude of opportunities

    Do you know any other members here? not yet, but I'm sure that will change

    How many kids? Ages? 2 kids - 27 and 21

    Tell us about yourself. Have been booted out of two lucrative careers (geology and IT) for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, so I've finally decided to follow my heart and dedicate my remaining energies to help others. I'm hoping to send several (winter) months learning and preparing for a long (summer) season of volunteering on "green" or "eco" projects in Europe, working through the HelpX network (helpx.net).

    Do you own any pets? none

    Occupation? wow, it's hard to say. I've done many things in the past, but Volunteering has taken the focus, for now.

    Married or single? divorced

    Interests and hobbies? I'm jumping headlong into "green" or "eco"-friendly technologies that are applicable to DIY situations, particularly for use in fiscally constrained projects in eastern Europe.
