Do you get up before your family?
I'll admit it, I like my sleep. On my work days I get up in just enough time to get myself and DS ready and leave the house, on days off I stay in bed until DS gets up around 0715 or so. That means DH gets up before me 5 days a week, he gets ready for work in a dark, lonley house lol.
I have been trying to motivate myself to get up a few minutes earlier each morning and get in the habit of being up with DH on my work days, and before DS on off days. I think DH would really appreciate me seeing him off in the morning, although he's never said anything, and I know how comforting it was for me as a child on the rare occasions that my mom was up first...making me breakfast etc. (She has major mental illness, and usually we had to drag her out of bed. This is not true for me, I just get up a few minutes after DS comes and snuggles with me in the morning.) I would also enjoy the extra time to have some tea and check my emails lol.
So I got to thinking, how many FVers get up and get the day started before the rest of the house is awake?

Not if I can help it. LOL! There isn't so much work to do here that I need to be up early.

I'm up before everybody everyday. Its quite time for me. My 3 yo grandaughter crawls in my bed by 6:30 to watch TV and I put her brother on the bus since he can't do it by himself. My son gets home from work by 8am and his wife would sleep her life away. If she gets up early then its yell city. Its just as easy for me to do it and not have the noise..........
FernYes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

Normally I do not get up before everyone else.
On a typical morning:
*DH gets up, starts a pot of coffee and spends a little time on the computer.
*DD gets herself up around 6:30 & takes her shower.
*I get up around 6:45 or 7:00 and start cooking breakfast. I make DH and DD each two eggs, sausage and a biscuit. DS doesn't eat eggs so he has 2 biscuits and an extra sausage.
*DS gets up at 7:00 while DH is taking his shower.
*Then everyone eats breakfast, after that DS gets his shower.
*DH leaves at 7:30 for work, DD leaves at 7:40 for school and I leave with DS at 8:10 to get him to school. If it is a rainy day, I drive DD to school. I do not want her driving in heavy rain just yet.
If I did not believe in serving a hot breakfast every morning I would sleep in a little later. But, I am a stickler about them eating a good breakfast.DD (19)

I'm the first one awake here pretty much every morning. Every now and then one of the kids will get up early on a weekend to use the bathroom and I will still be asleep. But otherwise I am the first one up.
Monday through Friday I'm up at 6 to get the kids up, make their breakfast and see them off to school. They get a hot breakfast every single morning(sometimes it's peanut butter toast, but it's hot LOL). On weekends I am usually up no later than 7 and the first one up.
My dh gets up at 4:30am when he works the day shift. I do NOT get up with him unless he can't find his keys or something. I would never get back to sleep and there is just no point in me being up from 4:30 on. I make his breakfast sandwiches and pack his lunch the night before so he can just throw it all in his lunchbox and go.S

We are not an early family, we work for ourself and homeschool so we don't usually get up till 8 or so...I am always the first one up, I shower and brush my teeth, and as I leave the bathroom, I tell the kids to get up, go back into our room and force the hubby up, lol! My dd gets right up and lets all the dogs out. After I am dressed, I have tell my son to get up again and force him to get out of bed, EVERYDAY! We do this 7 days a week, since our schedule is different than most...we work on weird days, school on different days, and dd has classes late.

I normally don't get up too early, but lately I have been getting up. My dh is a morning person so he's up early all the time. I've really gotten better thru the years! Yeah wisdom is everything!

I'm never the first one up. I don't even know what time my husband gets up, I briefly force my eyes open and mumble something when he kisses me goodbye.
DS wakes up around 7:15, he usually snuggles for a few minutes then goes downstairs. At that point I stumble down after him and pour a couple cups of coffee down my throat, while getting his breakfast and teaching him math.
My littlest will sleep until 9 if no one bothers her. Obviously takes after her mother.

I'm the first one up - unless you count 5 mth old DGS. He is my alarm clock most days. Some days I wake up a few mins before he does. We come down stairs, start coffee and breakfast then start waking everyone up. DD3 leaves for school then DH to work. The rest of the kids are up at 8 with a list of chores and homeschool work to do. Before the grandkids, the time first thing in the morning was DH and I's alone time.

It's just me and dh, but I have always been up first, especially when the kids were home. Now, I get up at 6:00. Feed the dog and cat, make coffee, check email and news. Walk the dog between 6:45 - 7:30. Get in the shower with dh and then pack his lunch. He's off to work between 8:30 and 9:00. I'm wiped out and in bed by 9:00 pretty much every night. I am NOT a night owl.

I am up and down all night long so by the time for everyone to get up I am sound asleep.
I usually wake up enough for right before they leave the house.

DH works too early for me! He leaves the house around 4am. He makes coffee and gets his lunch together.
DD#1 & 2 get up with me around 6:15am. DD#3 gets to sleep until 7. Everyone does their own thing in the morning and has a schedule.
We have it down to a science now.
