Default Brrr - It is chillly!

It is fridged cold outside (that might be an exaggeration what temp is fridged?) but it COLD.

With it that COLD outside the house is chilly in parts.

The temp in the kitchen was 54. So I plugged in the portable heater.

The dog is even cuddled under blankets for her nap. LOL

Glad we bought the extra throw yesterday.

Yup, it is cold here also. The damp kind of cold. Kitty is either sleeping on the folded up down comforter or under the covers on the bed. I have my thermals on under sweats. And it is only December.

Burrrr, doesn't quite describe our temperatures here in central Kansas! It was 5°F this morning, with wind gusting up to 38-40 mph. The high so far today has been 13°F and is currently 11°F. Did I mention 8-inches of snow.... We may break a record low tonight - one set in 1919.

We turned our furnace on for the first time last night. We were getting along nicely without it, relying on an infrared heater in the main area of our house, but got concerned about freezing pipes with such low temperatures and high winds, so turned the furnace on.

BTW - this isn't a race I really want to participate in. I like those mild fall days.

it was 55 in my bedrm this morning. We have a infrared heater going in the main part of the house and then the furnace kicks in to warm up other areas. My heating blanket will be in use tonight. -30 wind chill.

The weather has been just plane NUTS here today. It was 55 degrees and sunny at 9am. It is now 33, rainy and wind gusts up to 50 mph. The low is supposed to drop down to 20. I see where our north midwest states are getting a blizzard, I hope all of you are staying warm and safe, and that goes for anyone who is snowbound. It's going to be a long winter I'm afraid.

8 degrees here, feels like -13. We've had wind gusts of up to 50 mph, which is blowing around the 16 inches of snow we've had. We have drifts of up to 6 feet high.

I am keeping my heat at a comfortable 73...mainly because I am feeling weinie-ish, Wesley has a history of respiratory problems, and Maggie is still very very little.

I did have to do some creative weather-proofing on my backdoor. I didn't realize how much of a draft it was letting in and we have no weather-stripping or anything. Bath towels, wash clothes, and a butter knife have been a veyr good temporary fix.

Stay warm everyone. We had terrible storms that passed thru yesterday, last night and this morning. We woke up at 4:00 to tornado warnings and it was 65 degrees out. This past weekend it was down to 25 degrees at night. The weather is really strange right now here in the southeast!!
