    Default dr bronner's products

Does anyone here use his products?
I was wondering if his castile soap can be used in the washing machine.

the dr bronners products would be awfully expensive to use in the washing machine.
also if you have hard water, it will make a greasy scum.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

It can be used in the laundry, and for YEARS has been the travelers friend for hand-washing clothes in hotel rooms, as well as the Boy Scouts all-purpose soap for everything from laundry to showering and brushing their teeth with it. But as ladykemma2 pointed out, it would be expensive.

It's also a soap made from fat, rather than a detergent, so may pose a problem in front loading washing machines, which tend to junk-up and get moldy. If you do use it, I'd avoid using cold water for the wash, and it may not perform well in hard water.

You will also be missing the chemical aspects of today's laundry detergents that aid in cleaning laundry - corrosion inhibitors, enzymes, chelating agents and optical brighteners.

Saying all that... I used to make this liquid concoction which included 1 c. Castile Soap (I used Dr. Bronners) and made one gallon. I used it as an all-purpose household cleaner, but also used it to wash my sheets and bath towels. The gallon I made for laundry use I would add a favorite scented oil so the sheets and towels always smelled lovely after being line-dried. The Grapefruit Seed Extract in the recipe has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties.

I have never used it in my laundry but I use it for mopping my floors especially the one with peppermint scent. I also use the one with almond scent on the dog when I give her a bath. Her coat is so shiny and feels like silk. It is pricey but I love it and there is nothing that is harmful in it.

~I use a lavender bar for washing dishes. It works great on everything except plastic. It leaves a bit of oil on plastic but they are clean. Because of the oil I wouldn't use it on fabric.~
