Default Anyone married/dating a much older person?

It seems as though there's a new trend at my job and a few friends of mine. Dating/marriage to much older men/women. My bff is dating a man that is 15 years older than her and she is happier than I ever known her to be. I have a couple of coworkers who have married older men. My ex-husband married a woman that is 11 years older than him. (don't know if he is happy with her since he keeps trying to get back with me.....another day)
Anyway....I was just asked out by a man that is 10 years older than me. I am like WHOA!! Of course I went out with him and I really, really like him. What's up with that!!!!

Anyone else married or dating older people??

Hi sinopia - glad to see that I'm not the only night owl LOL

I think the trend is just that a trend. But I do agree with the theory that women mature sooner then men so by the time the men are ready to 'settle down' etc, they're older then the women. The women their own age - for the older man - are just that, older, wiser and more independent. Some of these women may have already been married, divorced and with or w/o children. I believe that its more about compatibility though vs age which is just a number.

Besides, what man wouldn't want a beautiful younger thing on their arm?

My husband is 8 years older then me. We're a perfect fit.

I agree with Libby. My husband is 12 years older and by the time we were ready to settle down (age 33 and 45 God help us), he was finally ready to grow up and be married and at least semi responsible!

Have dated older and now married to one that is 8 1/2 years older. Ever since about 25 I have always looked at men differently, older ones got my curiosity, got my blood pumpin too if I may use that tone. Dating / marring the older man is an ok thing!! Why not cheerish that love you may have together, afraid of the future and losing him?? (death) A good love, no should I say a great love is worth having if it may be short lived.

I have been on both sides, I have dated someone 13 years older and someone 12 years younger. Neither extreme worked for me. I am much happier now that I am dating someone the same age. I think it all depends on the people.

I think it works for woman because we all know that men are a little slower to mature.

Mrs. Inkstain is 5 years older than me. It isn't a big deal now, but when I was 19 and she was 24, she used to lie to people and say I was 20 so she wouldn't be dating a teenager.

Mine is 6 years older. My Ex was 2 1/2 older. He remarried a woman ( girl ) 14 years younger and 6 years older than our daughter who was 16 at the time.

I was always attracted to older even way back when. They seemed to treat people better. One date even brought my grandmother flowers. He had mine sent. And they pretty much kept their hands to themselves. My age however were all "grabby". Not happening. Course that was a long time ago. Now, have no clue if they are more respectful or not.

Interesting thread my bff is married to a man 17 years her senior it was fine when they were younger ie 30 versus 48 but now he is 68 and she is 50 and the age difference is a big problem She is still a young woman and he is looking at 70 and he is not the man he was. I suppose it depends on the individuals invovled but there is a big difference between 50 and seventy i guess one might have to look down the road I myself am 5 years older than dh I love those boy toys lol

Depends on the people. My dh is 1 year older than me and has always treated me great. My fil was 17 years older than mil. Neighbors behind us he is 16 years younger than she is; she is very bossy to him and now that they are getting older he is making comments on the age difference like she doesn't want to do anything or go anywhere. I really think it all depends on the individual people.
