Since I'm also a member (card-carrying!) of the "forgot what challenges I enrolled in" club, I've decided to go ahead and get a jump start on 2010 by posting my PERSONAL challenges to my signature. That way, whenever I see it, it will be a reminder of what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing.
These are just MY challenges for myself, nothing that has been carved in stone here at FV as yet. Just things that I personally wanted to work on, and I figure if I put it on my signature and have to see it all the time, it will remind me...I hope!

Great idea Suebee - like how you went into more detail of what You really want to do!!
I am going to start off slowly with handling debt, water challenge, monitoring what I eat, exercising challenge - and for fun _ am going to start a Valentine exchange!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Reading all of your responses makes me feel very motivated! Let's hope I can carry the motivation throughout the year and keep up with the challenges I choose to take part in!

How about a "Christmas planning all year" challenge? (Inspired by Sue!) :-) I am going crazy doing all kinds of last minute stuff from gift making to menu planning this year. I want to avoid that next year. Maybe make a gift a month or something?

Good idea, Shelli!
I find that if I wait all year to do my shopping at Christmas time (like I did this year..duhhhhh), I end up VERY stressed and it takes all the fun out of the holidays.
I've already started for 2010. My DD21 is pregnant with my first grandchild, and I had a couple of coupons for $5 off a Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase and $3 off a Lullabye GloWorm. So I picked those up when I was doing my shopping, and they will be stashed for future grandkid presents.
I keep a couple of green totes in the basement, and shop all year long - clearance sales, new stuff found at yard sales, etc. It all goes in the tote. And since I'm now the official family Christmas party organizer as of this year, I will be hitting the stores the day after Christmas this year to get stuff towards next year's party!

The "Lose-A-Pound-A-Week Challenge" is definitely open for everybody to start at any time of the year. I'll be sticking with this challenge in 2010 because I don't want to gain the 30 lbs I lost.
I want to continue in the "No Spend Challenge", the "Emergency Fund Challenge" and the "Week-long Pyramid Challenge". I'm sure there will be a few more that catch my fancy that I'll try.An obstacle is what comes up when you lose sight of your goal.

I thought I would post all my goals/challenges in the title of my blog. It helped until whatever month it was that I fell off the face of the Earth
I think I'll try that again.

I think it would help some of us if we had two buddies per challenge, someone who would drop you an e-mail and say "I haven't seen you at the challenge" - get off your duff and get back in the game! (or something thereabouts!)

~I'd been thinking about challenge partners too, Ml2620. I'm not sure how it work as many people come in and out of challenges all year. I wouldn't want to set anyone up for failure or hurt feelings if they didn't do well in a challenge or as a partner in a challenge.
It's definitely something that could be done informally though. I've occasionally contacted members I haven't seen in awhile and they've come back to the board. Private partnerships could be arranged through pm's.~~Constance

I always look forward to the challenges madhen comes up with......no pressure madhen!

I will definitely continue with all the challenges I participated in this last year. Not only do I subscribe to them ( to help remind me) but I also started a notebook back in January last year and I keep track of everything in there. I love my notebook as I can look back on the year and see what I have accomplished and I also list new ideas that I want to try.
Looking forward to 2010!
