ohhhh, here goes an odd thought:
what if.......
they knew she was dead, but didn't want to admit to anyone that she was dead because they wouldn't have anywhere to live if they couldn't live in her house??

I wonder if her pension/SS checks have been cashed over the past 8 months.

I am thinking that they needed her social security to live off of. This is no urban legend. I work about 30 minutes from this location. It's all over the news.

If they cashed her SS checks they will have legal issues to contend with, as well as homelessness, if that is the case. Which is what should happen in the case of thieves. If that is the case I do not believe they did not know, but it is possible they will portray themselves as so ignorant that they did not know she was dead.... although she did not speak, did not eat, did not use the restroom, did not sign her SS checks. The other option is that they really did not know, which would signal to me that they were mentally off.And had some sinus issues.

Yeah if they were cashing the SS checks, they won't have to worry about homelessness. The state is about to provide one. Very secure facility - bars on the windows and everything.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Think about the flip side of it. What if they just couldn't face the fact that she was dead and had some sort of metal breakdown and convinced themselves that she was just sleeping.
