wachovia/WF vent
I started with South Trust, i think 6-7 years ago and 1-2 years after that they switched two Wachovia. Now i really liked South Trust..but they were gone and it was automatically switched over..
i truly believe they change their rules to their benefits...maybe im just frustrated when i say that. (not trying to offend any bank workers here)
This year they have really thrown us for a loop
we made a deposit in december last year...i was on a recorded call and asked "was the money available to pay my electric bill now?" i asked that 5 times...then the next morning i had over 200.00 in NSF fees. after two hours on the phone they played the message and refunded all the money and gave letters to me to pass out to merchants they returned checks too.
The next major one i can think of was September, im sure there was so problems in between December and september though.
September my husband placed a deposit and the next day it was no longer showing in the account...i called and they had no record of the deposit. i had the receipt. they only gave us half back until they could find the deposit...which i think is totally wrong they should have refunded it all..and of course they also charged us NSF fees..which were refunded again.
In october my husband went to a different branch then usual and they processed his deposit differently. so we wouldnt have had it for 2 days but the receipt shows active the next day..me using the card again caused NSF fees..now i look at my bank everyday and they change the order constantly..one day my deposits are available and one day they are not. so yet again the money was refunded.
yesterday my husband deposited 1000.00 in cash
i had a truck payment due, checked the account..showed it deposited and processing..should have been fine at midnight
as of this morning its midnight tonight..ITS CASH SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAME DAY.. i paid my truck payment and its in the HOLD STATUS..my husband spent 10.00 last night and we had a furniture payment scheduled to be w/d last night..i had money to cover the furniture and the arbys and another 100.00 or so still in the account..but instead of crediting the deposit they deducted the truck which is still holding as of this morning and they sent my furniture payment back. now i have 70 in overdrafts. they forced paid my furniture but wont return the fees...because of the previously refunded fees..yet they were NEVER our fault..
i do take a little fault, i dont know what time the deposit is made BUT if its showing in my account i should have access to it..and this system should be able to pick that deposit up.
it seems each branch operates different, and some times each teller.
my husband is going to stop on his lunch break and talk with the bank he normally deals with
i think we have to switch but i see such a headache in changing everything..
sorry for the long vent

It is not that difficult to change banks! Get away from that bank ASAP. Find a credit union and I am sure you will be MUCH happier.

I'd change banks. Is there a reason that you don't? Even if you have to drive a little further or pay small fees, it would be better than this junk! Just my opinion.

I agree with Savvy Sniper - we switched to a credit union several years ago and they've been so easy to work with. I doubt if we'll ever go back to a "bank".

I'm sorry but after the second time they screwed with your deposit, you KNEW they were incompetent.
That said - get the hell out of there yesterday! If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I can't believe the lady told your husband ,your not being honest with him..That can cause alot of marriage issues . Show hubby the bank statement.. We had a problem with a bank last year. We deposit before 1pm it post the same day, well supose to anyway. We on 2 different times we deposit money around 9am ,and it never showed up til late afternoon the next day. Happen 2x first time i said ok people do make errors. But the 2nd time i said nope. Switched to Commerce and never had a problem. Plus hubby does most of the banking online only using debit card 2x a week for gas.

yup me neither
my husband goes over the bank stuff with me and i always tell him whats going on. he was married before and got the raw end of the deal with the bank accounts...so he goes through moments where he needs to see whats going on and i have never had a problem going over it...
my husband makes the deposit...he gets his check typically around mid morning, goes to the bank at lunch..cut off time for anything is 2 inside 4 at the atm...he cashes it and then deposits it...has done this for ever but once in a while he will either go to a different branch because of location or get a different teller. and they will mess it up. i feel cash should be available once its in..there is nothing to process at that point.
i was on the phone with them...from 8:30 till about 2 yesterday..calling back to back and talking to different people. one lady REFUSED me her supervisor and supervisor contact info...i made a formal complaint about the branch manager. i was emailing them and their system timed me out and erased it. i sent a shorter more condensed email this morning.
i am looking at the suntrust online stuff now about checking accounts.

I despise Wells Fargo. That is where our mortgage is and they are a pain in the butt! They refuse to work with you at all and love to switch people around on you. We got behind a payment but my records showed we were caught up. They would put one person on our account then the next time I called they had moved and there was someone new. Come to find out they had credited a payment to fees and late charges and we were a month behind because of that. It's straightened out now but I just despise them!
