I need help finding someone

Does anyone know of a free site to find people? I am trying to get in tuch with my SIL. The phone number and address we have are no longer where she is at. I have went into several web sites that state free searches only to have to pay to use them. She is somewhere in Maryland. My MIL got a card from her and then lost the card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We just want to make sure she is ok.

Have you tried searching for her on MySpace or Facebook? Not a for sure thing, but she may have a profile -- and that's free. As far as the "people finder" sites go, I haven't been able to find any that have been genuinely free.

Thanks. That was my next step. We saww her 3 years ago at my fil's funeral and heard from her off and on and then nothing. Like she dropped out of sight. We know she was having maritial problems and both had lost their jobs,home and car. I searched for divorce records but have found nothing yet. we were afraid something happened to them because they lived in a bad pat of the neighborhood down there. Thanks again

If you have a last name and a state you can use the "white pages" services to look her up. Hopefully it is not a common name. One of the white pages search engines also lists ages, which can be helpful in narrowing down multiple choices. I can't remember which one, though so you may have to try several web sites.

Try googling her name. I have had to find people before for work and was able to find information that way.

I was going to say google her name. I don't know if any of you know this, but if you don't fix your settings on Facebook and someone types your name in, it will bring it up on google and show your picture and some of the people you are connected to.
So do that and see if it will bring her up.
I changed mine a few days ago after a FV friend let me know.

Well Igoogled her name but came up with nothing and I found one on facebook that resembles her but I'm not sure. I really didn't think Porter was such a common name but boy was I wrong. I came up with nothing on 411 white pages. I don'[t even know if she has access to a computer or has a phone. The last known number was a cell and they were living in some guys basement. I'm still looking. Maybe since we are snowed in my MIL will have find the lost card. Thanks

Sorry Pop. I hope you do find her. Does your MIL keep old cards and letters. Ask her to go through them one at a time, maybe its stuck in something.

I was also going to suggest pipl.com I use it for work & it's scary some of the info it comes up with on people (addresses, links to social sites, public records)

Thanks to Jesiemom. At first it didn't work but after several tries I found her in divorce court. Hopefully one of the 2 address' works. I really appreciate the help and yes it's reallyscary what you can find.
