Default Peak and Off Peak Electric..Here's pricing for Fl

I posted this orginally in the Utilities thread but thought this might be a better place to be see by more people. I apologize for double posting but thinking this is a good way for people to reduce their electric bills by alot of money especially right now.
I knocked off at least $125 a month by doing this and unplugging.

I got our electric bill a couple days ago and it had one of those inserts in it that I used to toss. No more.

In it it had the On Peak and Off Peak information. This is for Progress Energy in Florida. Most electric companies have peak hours. Call and ask. You might be surprised.

Wanted to post the pricing to show what I've been saying on my posts about not turning anything on before 9PM if possible. I was saying it was about 50% cheaper. I was wrong. It's 5 times cheaper. Maybe 4...admit I'm not a math whiz but you can see what I'm saying by just a glance. Goes back on peak at 7AM.

    Energy Charge
    On Peak 16.920 per kWh
    Off Peak 3.471 per kWh
    ..
    Fuel Charge
    On Peak 7.069 per kWh
    Off Peak 3.889 per kWh

So washers/dryers after 9 gals. Same with dishwashers, showers if possible. Gonna be up awhile warm the house with baking after 9PM.

Any other ideas for after 9??? I'm open to new suggestions. A few more dollars in our pockets and not theirs. ( PS...at the meeting the Progress Energy plainly stated they needed the increase so their CEO's could get bigger bonuses this year. It made front page of the paper and No, he wasn't kidding...he was just stupid. Here's his sign I guess at least he was honest. No more CEO bonus money !!!!!

Funny, Xcel asked for another 8% raise in CO, a portion of which was to fund their Denver Bronco and Nugget game tickets. They put it in the report they handed to our Public Utilities Commisioner. They ended up with a 6% raise from the PUC after some outrage from the public. Energy price increases rarely have anything to do with consumer price index.

Congrats on being a residential that has offpeak rates! Not so lucky here. . . . .

Oh, ours is still going up in January. That is a given. Supposed to be anywhere from 25% to 36%. They requested an increase of $499 million. But according to the insert there is ..ahem..a problem with the FPSC approving it. They ( the FPSC ) voted to delay a ruling on approval.

"delay a ruling on approval" sounds like they want the public to stop paying attention so they can backdoor the approval after the holidays. But I'm just a little paranoid about that because it happens here in CO so much.

Yep, forgot that. They didn't have that in the insert but saw it on their website. Weekends are less than reg peak ( forget how much less ) but are only so so. Not near the after 9. Holidays I think are in between.

    Anything helps!!!
