Default Is anyone else sick of shopping?

With all the holiday shopping I am so sick of getting in my car, driving to the store, dealing with the crowds, waiting to pay, etc. I don't want to step foot in a store for a long time but I have to because we need produce. I need produce and I don't want to get it *throws self on the floor kicking and screaming*

Anybody else get so sick of going to any store this time of year?

I work retail............ and am on the other side of that....I don't want to do any shopping because I am AT the store every day...all day long, dealing with irate customers, unhappy bosses...just everything. By the time I get off work, I sure don't want to shop.
I force myself to do the minimum to be prepared for a holiday. One of these days, I'll find something else to do besides retail, and then I'll get to look forward to the holidays again.

    Good luck to you.

I've mostly shopped from Amazon. The UPS driver on our route probably has my photo in his truck as public enemy #1. I got the last of it tonight, but he was running early - must have been around 7 pm. The last bit arrived around 8. But he still manages to smile. Good man.

I went out today to have lunch with a friend I haven't seen in probably a year. Bad move, but we were both off and her husband wasn't, so it was a good chance. It if weren't for nice drivers letting merging traffic in every other car or so, I would still be gridlocked. As it was, it took probably 15 minutes to work my way across a street and through a shopping center -- while I reinvented my route home about three times in the space of two impossible blocks.

So I'm not dealing the stores, but the TRAFFIC!

    Bah, humbug!

Oh, sweetie, I know your pain. I worked retail for a long time and I finally had to quit since it was making me so bitter toward the human race.

No. I fact I want to keep spending. I buy cheap or little all year and I love to spent on the kids. It's a real weak point. That said I buy a lot early, alot on the internet and shop at non peak hours. What i don't want to do is shop for groceries. I hate standing at the deli getting muliple things w/ people making HMPPHing noises behind me.

I am with you DC. That is why I am baking/making this year - that is what they get! It has been bad enough 'chasing sales' for the baking items. You COULD NOT pay me enough to hit the mall!!! Haven't set foot inside it and don't plan to.

I don't have to shop for Christmas anymore Our family celebrated at the beginning of December. I know for sure that my sister and BIL are enjoying their time down in SC right now golfing it up.

As for the shopping - she can enjoy it leisurely despite the lunatics out there. Plus I gave her a long list of things we can't purchase in Canada to hunt down for me

The only thing I need to venture out for is groceries. Basically I will go to a 24 hour place and pick up what is needed that we can't purchase at the asian market which is almost next to nothing lol

    Not at all!

It is my rule to have the most part if not all of my shopping done by Thanksgiving. This is my first Christmas in a long time to not be 100% online shopping. I do run to Walmart for groceries but BEFORE the sun comes up. I shared the store with maybe 5 people yesterday.

I don't like to shop so being 'forced' to at Christmas is always annoying to me. Even though I pick up things for the kids all year there are still little things to get. I'd be happy to just pack my family up for the month of December and retire to the mountains.

I am sick to death of it ~ in fact, I have procrastinated so much that I have to go finish it up today.

We were supposed to go on a vacation instead of gifts but the vacation got changed so then I had to come up with a gift list....ugh!

I had 95% of my shopping done the beginning of Dec. but still have to pay bills and go to grocery store yesterday I went to town and between every one finishing their Christmas shopping and a huge storm coming in , there was so many people and they were not nice no excuse me or stopping to let you turn into an aisle every one looked like they were in panic mode.Walmart was the worse and shop n save (grocery store) was packed. Some places I had to wait 10 to 15 mins to check out.
We are getting up to 20 inches of snow so I guess people were trying to do 2 things at once Christmas shopping & preparing for the storm.
I did some shopping on line this year I think I'll do more of that next year.
