Default Some ppl haev no sense!

Beginning tonight at 8pm, a snowstorm will hit, and hit hard. They are talking 20 inches of snow and a system that will stall out over us. Interstates are being shut down tonight and the governor got on tv and told us that if u werent where u needed to be by noon today, dont go anyway. I call my mom saying too bad we wont have a Christmas, as this will last til sat. She says, I still plan to go to work tomororw. She has to drive 15, thru windy hills to get there. I know she wont be going because of common sense, but I swear she has none! Come on, if its anything like they say your not going anywhere in ur dinky lil car. Im a xray tech whos on call for the next two days, and ive been told im not leaving the building til friday morning. Why do people insist on braving the elements and possiably putting others in danger?

    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

People who drive in that weather without the most urgent need, don't need more snow. They already have a lifetime supply between their ears.

sommersa - sometimes the weatherman is wrong which is why people don't believe in them which either makes them right for not believing OR stupid for not listening. Its more of a play it by ear type thing with the weather...I wish people would understand that - ie employers.

Stuff like this makes me so freaking angry. Ding-dongs that can't listen and go out in that kind of weather without legitimate needs not only risk their lives but the lives of police officers, firefighters, ems, and all those other first responders who wind up on a rescue mission.

Well I for one am listening to the weather person. We are in northwest Ohio and I heard earlier that they were cancelling upper Indiana stuff already for tonight, now we are only about 30 miles from the border and a hour from upper Indiana, ran to the grocery real quick for christmas meal and it has already started to freeze rain here, and we weren't to start till tomorrow afternoon.

I am listening to the weather. Where ever you are, stay safe. And Merry Christmas, Aj

Totally get what you mean about the weatherman. I always say must be nice to make that much money and be wrong 75% of the time. My dh works outside for a living and is always watching the news for the weather. Sometimes they will say it is going to rain for 3 days and there won't be a raindrop in sight for the entire following day.

I am definately not defending someone going out when there is very deep snow going somewhere that is not to save someone's life. ONLY important place to be in a big snowstorm

Ok, maybe if I were in say Florida and they were predicting 20" of snow I would ignore it, but not in South Dakota in December. If the truck drivers don't go, I don't go.

I'm sorry that you, and others, are having such extreme weather. A white Christmas is lovely, but this really sounds like overkill.

Here if the snow begins to get too bad, the police sit blocking the highways not allowing anyone to go by except ambulances. So here ... No choice!

    Yep, you can't fix stupid!
