Christmas Blessings....
Merry Christmas everyone!
I had to stop and take a moment to reflect on the blessings we have recently received and just wanted to share them with you all, since you were instrumental (by way of advice and listening ears) in some of this.
Here's a rundown of the Christmas blessings we have received:
1. DD21 has moved home to live with me - I had not seen her in over 2 years, only talked on the phone, and not often. She is here with me, safe from the lifestyle she was living, which was leading her to certain self-destruction.
2. DD21 is pregnant with my first grandchild. It took some time, but I am finally getting excited about this now and getting "into" the idea of being a grandma. We heard the heartbeat yesterday and will have an ultrasound on 1/5, so we will know what the baby is then.
3. DS18 is passing his classes (some barely, but he IS passing) which is a major accomplishment for him. He is a well-mannered, polite young man who does many things around the house and in the yard without being asked.
4. DD21 has been approved for WIC, Food Assistance and Medicaid, which is a HUGE relief and help to the household!
5. We have been the recipients of some wonderful donations of baby gear and clothing from friends and co-workers.
6. I was able to pay off the rent that was past due, and to catch up on some other bills that had been behind due to a major loss of income this year.
With all that said, I would like to wish everyone a WONDERFUL, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Our blessings this year have been similar. Our list also includes two healthy grandbabies arriving and my aneurysm being successfully operated on. I am also so thankful that the KC area blizzard we are in has come on a night/day when most folks don't have to get to or from work. For all my friends in the food service business I am giving thanks they don't have to try to drive in today or risk being fired for not covering a shift.
