Christmas decorations put away?
Well, I guess I may sound like a grinch. However, last night I spent a few minutes putting the Christmas decorations away. The wreath on the outside door is still up. While I do enjoy the holidays, I just find having the few decorations I had up very distracting. My place just felt really cluttered. And quite frankly I was glad when they were put away.
Sure the white lights on the ficus trees are still up. They are up all year long. In the evening I will turn them on, find them very relaxing.
Has anyone else taken their decorations down?

Yep everything got put away yesterday. We have to rearrange the l.r to put the tree up and it drives me batty so I like to get my l.r. back to normal as soon as I can. Plus the boys are 21 and 18 now so there no need to keep it up longer

Put down my christmas tree and christmas decorations about an hour ago. Like jamie 79 I have to rearrange a few things from my living room to my dining room and it drives me batty to see everything not where it belongs. Also, it would of been on my mind all week tell I took it down.

We always take down the inside decorations on the 27th/28th Dec.
We always have a house full on New Year's Eve and I really need/want to have the house more or less back to 'normal' since it is just not practical with so many folks in the house and them walking in and out.
Now the outside decorations - that is another story.
They stay up as long as I can get away with it. Dh will humor me regarding putting them up really early but really likes to have them down right after New Year. Each year I try to get him to postpone it as long as possible.*Avril*

Little by little, I'm starting to put things away. I need to do it in small baby steps so the rest of the family doesn't revolt.

You all know the 12 days of Christmas start ON CHRISTMAS, right?
The end of Christmas is Epiphany - January 8th.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I won't start taking things down until next weekend. First the nativity, then the linens, then the misc decorations & the mantle. The tree is last.
The outside lights get taken down whenever the weather cooperates

I won't start taking mine done until New Years. I love my decorations, plus I was gone the whole week of Christmas. I want time to enjoy them.

Our decorations will start coming down this week. I usually am in a race to get my house back together, but this year I am enjoying it all.

everything was taken down and boxed up yesterday but the bare lonely trees stood all night...this morning they went into their boxes and back to the shed....all the other boxes went up into the attic....
we too have to re-arrange the house when my x-mas stuff comes down...but dh said this morning instead of putting it all back where it was, lets re-arrange to something different... so we did... and its a great change...(we've been doing this about every 4 months or so...everytime we start thinking we need a new couch and chair...it pacifies us....)....thankfully we only have basically furniture to move so not alot of little 'stuff' needs to be moved around...(my aversion to clutter anywhere)...i told dh as we were moving it that we could probably be moved out of our house in as little as a couple of hrs with a couple of hefty helpers....

We never put ours up! WE got as far as lights on the tree & were happy with that so didn't drag the rest of the totes out of the attic. i'm so glad now that we didn't...I don't have to put them away.
I am hoping to find a smaller fiber optic tree to use for next year & leave the ornaments in the attic again. we do have a few candles & christmas dolls out til after new years.
