Default Is it Spring yet? (long might want a cup of coffee)

Lat night we had a bunch of snow. Not as much as we could have but enough. It can stop anytime. Since dh lost his license I have to take him to work. I hate to drive to begin with. Then I got up with a migraine and my gums have been hurting for the last 4 days for some reason. And he makes me nervous telling me what I should and shouldn't do. I know he's trying to help but I just want to tell him to sit back, close his eyes and hold on. A few years ago he would watch the weather channe so much that he actually threw me into a panic attack one morning. After that he was pretty good. So we get to his job and the last thing out of my mouth was...watch the ice. All I saw was a lunch box and feet. The rest of him was on the ground. You would think working at a sawmill they could find something to put on the parking lot. I know they can't use sawdust (DEP rules) but they have a big pile of pea gravel that just collecting snow. When I got home I found we have no hot water. Hoping the wind blew out the pilot and nothing else. Ok I'm done ranting now.

    ( ( hugs ) )

I don't like to drive in the winter myself. And I don't unless the roads are cleaned off. I can stay home and hibernate for days if need be.
This morning the hubby called and told me to be careful in front of our garage. He managed to fall on the ice, getting the door open, so he could get the truck out, so he could go to work and plow. Which would have been shortly after 3 am. I was sound asleep at that time. I know he had his cell phone on him so he could have woke me up if he needed me. I think when he gets home, I will be gentle and remind him to be more careful. We can't afford to have him hurt and laid up.
I usually do one fall every winter. So far, I been behaving.
My sister in law told me the other day she has fallen 2x this winter in their driveway because of ice condtions.

i am usually the one who falls but this year I haven't. No dh....he's fallen 4x so far. All at work. We were called to the hospital last night for dh's uncle. He is the early stages of chf and pnemonia. They got him stabalized and into a room. This morning he had a heart attack. Haven't heard anything more. This week really started crappy last night. but at least the roads are pretty good from what I was told anyway.

Lora - had the same problem with sinuses, headache and gums last week - no fun.

PGTW - It's only 8 AM here - want to start your day over with me? Post and vent here all you want and need to. Please ask your DH to refrain from commenting while you are driving him to work.......that is just plain wrong!!

Sending prayers and aloha your way!!

Cheer up - the days are already getting longer. I have this site saved to my favorites: http://www.sunrisesunset.com. I check it out to see how much daylight is added at the end of each month. As a nature nut, I also am very aware of the signs of the seasons changing. For example, in January in IL, cardinals start singing their "spring" song. In February, the buds start getting bigger and the red-winged blackbirds start migrating back. And let's not forget - daylight savings time is earlier now - March 14 this year. Yay!

Guess what??? It's snowing...again. Suppose to snow until Tuesday. An update on dh's uncle. As I posted before they rushed him to the hospital Monday night. He's 95 and didn't figure he'd make it through the night, The next morning he had a heart attack. By the afternoon and early evening he was sitting in a chair talking. He lost a few years, he thinks it's the 90's but he's eating and seems to know people and where he is.He is so skinny. Maybe 100 pounds soaking wet and that's pushing it. He was living in a low income apartment complex befor hewent to assisted living but he won't be able to go back so we're suppose to go and turn in the keys this weekend. He wants to go back but there is no way. He won't eat or take care of himself. He wants his meals set in front of him instead of fixing them himself. He was never married so I think that comes from going out to eat once a day when he was able. The bad part other than the obvious ..he has no insurance and doesn't qualify for any help unless he gets rid of some of his money. We have to prove that it iis going somewhere to take care of him in some way. He make 75 bucks too much a month and they wnat proof where the money goes.He has basically out lived his social security like so many other elderly. He has too many medical needs to have dh's mother or us take him in and we are all that's left. I jsut feel so bad we can't do more.He has had money stolen and his clothes lost where he was at so I am doing his laundry and making sure he doesn't keep anything but some loose change laying out. Dh's mother lives almost an hour away so she comes in once or twice a week when she gets off work. We only live about 10 minutes away. Guess I just needed to let off some stress. Thanks
