Where theres a will....
theres a way!!! Thats what my Mom has ALWAYS said well I had the will. This past year has been tough with money and all. We have borrowed WAY too much money from my mom this past year so despite the fact that come Monday after all is said and done we had $10 yes ten dollars for groceries and VERY little food for the week and I REFUSE to borrow anymore $$. Well I was DETERMINED to make do and thats just what I did. I got dinner for 4 days and an extra loaf of bread for DH lunch/dinner for $10.22. DH works nights so its just the 4 of us-me and the boys at night.
Heres what I got:
3 cans tomatoe sauce $1
1 sm bag elbow macaroni .20
this along with 1 pkg of fideo pasta in cabinet, potatoes, onions and left over Xmas corn = Sopa (DH was home last night so 5 of us ate)
2 loaves of bread .89x2
1 pack sliced cheese $1.20
11 Nissin Deli Pasta ramen dishes .50 ea= grilled cheese and pasta
2 boxes mac n cheese(Kraft- I had to splurge. Generic was HORRIBLE last week) .79x2
Leftover Xmas ham= mac n cheese w/ham
1 box Lipton Onion Soup mix-dry $1.38
1 can green beans .58
5 chicken breasts in freezer, mashed potatoes=grilled onion chicken with potatoes and green beans
Total $13.22
- (1)$1/3 Nissin and (4).50/2 Nissin= 10.22
I went from quite upset and worried about how I was going to feed my kids to quite proud of myself!!! Thanks for letting me share!

You did good with your tight budget. (( hugs ))
Years ago, when my 4 kids were little, it was a good thing I did a lot of canning and freezing. I remember one week after getting the bills paid, there was only $ 5.00 left for groceries. I went to the grocery store, and I was so careful what I bought. I made sure to get a bag of flour so I could do some baking. I know I spent within a few pennies of that 5 dollar bill.--------My signature--------
