    Default Had to laugh

We were at the store yesterday and I picked up a couple bags of lentils. I had decided to try some meat stretching that I had read about on a thread here. The kids saw the bag and noticed that lentils sounded like pintos. They decided that lentils were baby pintos (they LOVE pintos) so they were all excited to see the baby pintos with their meat.

That's great, always good to have the kids excited about trying new foods. We like them in sloppy joes and also in spaghetti sauce. They are kind of meaty and marry well with pasta. I also made a cottage pie with them that was really good. Oh, and tacos, the tacos were a super hit it this house.

Good ideas folks. I have only used them in veg soup by the handful.
I miss cute kid stuff sometimes. We are on the verge of 4 adults in this house.
