Default Hello! I look forward to meeting everyone.

Hello, so very nice to meet you.

    My name is Shanna.
I have 2 child. One 10 year old Girl and one 13 year old boy.
We live on the East Coast and don't have many friends here yet.

Frugality isn't something that I grew up with in my family. I looked up this forum on the internet. I need a nice support group of people who don't see anything wrong with shopping sales, not eating out, and even *gasp* using coupons.

They say it takes a 21 days for something to become a habit. I know frugality won't be an easy habit to aquire when doing it the "old" way will be so much easier.

I am hoping that plenty of support and seeing all the savings grow will make this fun. If being frugal were as miserable as I keep being told it will be, why do all you guys do it, right?

I can't wait to read all the tips and stories on the board.

    Shanna

this place saved my bacon during my divorce! when i had to learn to live on a much smaller salary.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

"i create prosperity, abundance, and savings for me and my household"

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I have been exploring the site off and on all day.

I have discovered a lot already.

You can buy coupons online, pressure cookers can be good things, and I am not the only person who has family that discourages them from trying to save money.
I even joined a few challenges.
Whew! It is so nice finding other people that like living frugal.
I am not living frugal yet, but I certainly plan to try.

Now if only I can find some good recipes for the dried beans I found on sale last week...

It really is wonderful meeting everyone here

Hi and welcome from Florida. Jump and start posting. Looking forward to reading yours.
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.
