Default What is it with Credit cards??

Ok in the mail last week i got a cancelation notice from another credit card company. What is it with the companies cancelling you once you pay them off?? I got that from Lowes and now WaMu which is now capital one? When I called them .. they said it was because we had a bankrupcy ... ummm we went bankrupt before we even got this credit card infact it will be 7 years this year that it happened.... then they said we had too many big balances on our other credit cards .. ummm we only have one card that has a balanace on it left and its the one my husband uses for business and puts fuel on and it only has 400 dollars on it .. everything else we paid off.... geeeeezzzzzzz!! I told them they needed to get their facts straight but thanked them for making up my mind which one card to keep and then cut up the rest.... I find as we get rid of debt the cards get weird and want to cancell us even though we have better credit rating now than we did before. What is up with that?????

They're snakes. They bite. Don't play with em.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

The credit card companies are just trying to minimize their risk. With the new laws, they can't screw people over quite so badly with fees like they used to so it's no longer in their best interest to carry accounts they consider risky. It's nothing personal against you - they are doing this to a lot of people, and some of those people have better credit history, i.e. no bankruptcy ever.

LB summed it up pretty good. And they only have until Feb. to get their last minute 'screws' done to everyone. I am figuring it will get pretty bloody in the next month!

I got cancelled on a card by a bank I have a checking acct. with - for non-use! And THEN they had the guts to offer me another one....oh yeah, like I want all that crap on my credit score...NOT! They got an 'earfull'........

Last month was a harder month than I would have prefered. I had to but two bills on my credit card that were due or were going to be late. I did and then paid the amount i put on the credit card the next week. Unfortuantely, in the mean time my billing cycle had closed and the months interest was added. I was less than $5.00 over my credit limit and they charged me $39.00. I called to see if there was anything I could do and They actually reversed the $39.00 for me.

While I was on the phone they told me how the new law would specificially effect me. Apparently, before if you charged over your limit, they would accept the charges and then charge you an over the limit fee as well as increase your APR. Now they have to have your permission to charge you the fee. They can also not allow you to charge over your limit.

I like this new law from what I have seen. Now for the 2010 goal to rid myself of all CC's!

I have an excellent credit history. I had my CC since college, NEVER late on a payment, NEVER had a bankruptcy, etc... My only problem was that it had been paid off in full for about 2 years and they didn't like the fact that I was not carrying a balance on it. My card is now no longer. Not by my risky actions or abuse. It was by my good handling of my finances.

Yes, you are what the credit card companies call a "deadbeat"....they're not making any money off of you at all....my husband is one of those too.
