You have my deepest sympathy. One day is bad enough. But two in a row! I thought I was abused when I had to do it for the colonscopy and then again a couple of weeks later for a surgery.
I hope the test goes well. The prep is by far the worst part.Donna

If you start to feel ill, nauseated, stomach or muscle cramps, headaches, lightheaded etc...please call your doc. Very, very easy to get dehydrated and have dangerous electrolyte imbalances with two days of prep. Your heart can't beat correctly with too little or too much sodium or potassium. Not to scare monger...just be careful!

I realized the mistake at 7 last night. I started this yesterday at noon. So after i realized the screw up i ate something, had a lite breakfast this morning and started the prep again at noon. Im on my last 16oz of miralax mixture for the night. Then have 32 oz to do at 6am. My test is at 12:30 tomorrow. I have a headache already.

On the plus side, making up that hideous solution a day ahead of time is a good thing. It is not so granular, and it gets good and cold which makes it more palatable. My pharmacist advised me to do it, and I was glad I did. Also very glad that mine is over with!!!

Nana I feel for you! I had a colonoscopy in Oct. and for 2 days I could only have jello and 7-up. Then nothing at all after 10 o'clock the night before. It was scheduled for 1:00 but by the time they finally got around to me it was almost 6:00. By then I wasn't even hungry but dying of thirst. Hope everything goes great for you!

My first experience with the prep for Colonoscopy
I had my colonoscopy last week. I really didn't want to have one but my doctor kept insisting. The prep. wasn't as bad for me. I was on the Trilyte solution. I had to start drinking it the night before starting at 5pm. What helped was getting the Crystal light lemonade power. I poured one liter of the solution into a 2 liter old juice bottle. I used one stick of the Crystal light power in the solution. The taste wasn't the greatest but the lemon flavored helped. I kept my favorite T.V. shows on and got my mind set that this is going to be a piece of cake and let's roll! My goal was to drink the first 1 liter in about 15 min but I ended up taking about 30 min. I then waited for about one hour then took the next liter. (I had a total of 4 to drink). By the time I completed the first liter within an hour I was going to the bathroom. When you have to go....go because it comes out fast. By the time I got to my 3rd liter, I finished it within 15 min. When I got to my last liter, I ended up having less than a liter to drink. So I was completely done in about 10 pm. By 11 I didn't have to go to the bathroom a lot. Then during the night I woke up maybe twice.
In the morning I was able to drink liquids until 4 hours b4 the procedure. The actual procedure went quite well. I was knocked out. During the procedure I could feel myself trying to awake but I was given more drugs and next thing I was in recovery. The doctor said that I have a really long colon. LOL. I did have a polyp and it was removed.
Prior to the above I had to take 2 Ducolax on Tue and that cleaned me out so I really think that's what made the prep go pretty well. Plus I didn't overeat. I had a friend that pigged out the night b4 and she had a hard time.
Now, the not so good thing is that I just got a call from my doctor telling me that the polyp was cancerous. I am still in shock but it was removed. I have to see him to see if anything else need to be done (when he gets the full report).
I am so glad that my doctor pushed me to get this done! I am 49 and my father had colon cancer. That's why my doctor was insisted that I get it done. I'm sorry this is so long but I hope what I said will help those of you who will be having one done soon.

Wow, just think you have a guardian angel who pushed the doc to insist you have it done! Hopefully they got it all and they'll watch you closely. Sending prayers that you're all set and healthy!!!
