Unhappy Imagine and the Horrible no good very bad day --vent

It is so cold nothing is working right

The children are home from school yet again due to the weather. And they are stir crazy because they can't go out. They are getting on each other nerves and mine. So TV to the rescue except the tv is so cold that it won't turn on.

Send the kids to do other things and the start the laundry only to find the washer doesn't want to work either. Getting a no water error.

So I moved a portable heater down there to see if the pipes have frozen. I thought it might be just he hot water heater as it seems to be working on the cold water wash but I have hot water upstairs so... Edited to add that the washer isn't working on cold water wash either so I'm betting it is the pipes)

I can't get a hold of Hubby to ask what he thinks we should do as it appears he is in meetings all day. Or froze to death on the walk to work (no won't even go there are I'm sure work would have called to see why he wasn't there)

Oh it is so not a good day here.

Oh this day is so not going well

It is one of the older projection Tv's and the light bulb has to warm up so it doesn't burst. With it being so cold it wasn't warming up enough.

We have had problems with the bulbs before (takes several days for a replacement to arrive also) We wouldn't buy this type again ( I'm not sure they even make them anymore)

But also not interested in buying a replacement tv so for for now we just live with a tv that has a attitude with temperature change. You watch tv if the tv turns on.

I had no hot water in my shower for two days last weekend. Had it everywhere else in the house, even the bathroom sink. It finally unthawed at 1:00 in the morning nearly scaring me to death LOL!

    Hope your day gets better!

Was it your pipes? Where they the ones in need of thawing?

I found a wind down stairs through little cracks around windows and such. The high wind and the bitter wind chill really helps you find those cracks. Took this opportunity to check around the house for more wind. Now I know what the Wal-mart gift cards we received for Christmas will be used for. Caulk and new window plastic.

I taped the window crack down stairs with some plastic I found and a old towel. That should help the portable heater to heat that area up.

Then the TV finally warmed up enough to turn on.

The children wanted to pick a movie. That didn't go well.

The oldest child is grounded to his room to read his book assigned from school.

The youngest was giving a few choices and told if there was anymore fuss That she would be grounded to her room also. she is currently watching PBS.

So for now I'm going to sip some hot tea and regroup before lunch.

Oh I so hope they are okay!!

Horrible day but it sounds like it starting to turn around. Hang in there! Hoping that it continues to get better.

On a lighter note - THIS is how you get hugged...
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Hey we are on at the same time. That is neat.

I'm worried about my neighbor now. Keeping an eye on the firetruck to see if everything is okay.

Fire truck left the neighbor's house.

I called to see if everything was okay.

Their Carbon monoxide alarm had gone off. But after being checked out it was just a malfunction. No carbon monoxide build up.

Guess their Carbon Monoxide detector doesn't like the cold either or all the electrical appliance on our block are on strike. LOL

    So everything is fine there.
