1st Paycheck- "Hope & Change" My Butt!!!
Yes, this is a rant. ... Just checked our account to see if DH's paycheck was deposited Uncle Sam took out 12.80 more...so now that's 25.60 a month...307.20 a year more this year in taxes.I believe that the gov. let the Bush tax cuts expire....but I shudder when I think about what Dh's paycheck will look like after they ram everything else down our throats. We're barely making it as it is.I would probably feel alot worse if I had voted for that moron....
Hope & Change???MY SWEET A**!!!

I lost $24.43 in this paycheck... Not fun.
However, I did vote for him, and the truth is that it wouldn't have mattered who won, taxes were going to be raised, no matter what anyone said.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

We both took a hit too - very frustrating after our 8% paycut also.

Do you normally get a refund on your taxes each year? If so, you could speak with a tax advisor, plan out how much taxes get taken out of each check and how much you get back in a refund. It is inevitable that taxes will go up and next year when the Stimulus bill expires for the withholding table changes, your taxes will go up again. If it weren't for taxes...I'd be out of a job.

If they are going to dig further into my paycheck it would be nice if they actually did something fruitful with that money.

Count us as another that took a hit - double hit... DH's check today was $50 shorter, combined insurance increase and government withholding. Have to wait until this evening to see the exact breakdown. So since 2007 we have gone from $3400 per month take home to $2800 per month take home between pay cut, overtime cut and insurance increases.

We haven't gotten a paycheck yet. I am scared when we do. I budgeted a few hundred less than what we were getting to accomodate for the taxes and extra things.

I can't tell from my husband's paycheck because he gets OT in the winter because of snow plowing. I'll just have to make note of it to check when the OT ends in another few months. Which I am guessing will be about $ 100 a month less in bring home.
My hubby did not get a raise for this year. We are just very thankful he still has a job. And my last job ended over 18 months ago.--------My signature--------

I didn't receive a cost of living allowance increase from the VA pension I get for the first time in seven years this year.
Should I be upset?
No. I'd rather have it stay the same than either have it go down or lose it all together.
I think people need to be thankful they still even get income. Placing the blame on one person in particular helps no one. You should be lucky you're not one of the 7 million people who may never have a job again, or the 10% of the US population that's taking in unemployment because they can't find a job where they're living now.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Ok girls, this is what the payroll says..straight from the payroll company ( this is for all states ). Sitting here in writing beside me.
New leistration increases the taxable way base from a $7000 ro a $8500 in 2-10 thruough 2015. The taxable wage base reverts back to $7000 in 2015. The legistration also modifies the criteria that the state uses to make adjustments to unemployment tax rates so that it is easier for the state to raise tax rates and more difficult for the state to lower tax rates.
So since it's been made "easier" to raise and "harder to lower we all know what's coming. It's not going to end in 2015. I do believe this has nothing whatsoever to do with the Bush taxes coming back. They are yet to come. Could be wrong but don't think so. Also at some point Obamas $25 in every paycheck is going to end. Don't forget that.
So we have this screw job, Obamas take back of the $25 in a few months and whatever Bush's tax cut coming back.
And for payroll unemployment tax went up. For only one person here it went up $35 a week on top of what it already was. Total another $140 a month that we already don't have. So this hit us $175 a month.
I can tell you where I'd like to stick his change.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

I haven't pushed the pencil yet...but I already know that taxes are pounding on us. The property tax on our house takes just over 4 weeks of my husband's NET paycheck. School taxes take 3 weeks plus of his net. So 2 months of paycheck gone there. Not sure how much state and federal take but a good chunk.
And I was reading that the gas prices are climbing again.
So if we have less money to work with from paychecks, it means we all have to tighten the belt another notch or two or three

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
