Default help w/ a beef pot pie idea

i have 3 cans of the dinty moore beef stew and thought it would be perfect for a pot pie

    how would you make this?
make a pie crust for top and bottom? just the top? biscuits on top?
what recipe would you use to make the pie part?
would you add anything to the beef stew mix?

    thanks

I usually just put my filling in a pyrex dish and put the crust on top. I use canned biscuits, a plain homemade pie crust recipe or unroll a tube of canned crescent rolls and lay over.

Perfect dish for a cold day!!

1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/3 cup shortening
    4-5 Tablespoons cold water

    stir flour and salt together
    cut in shortening
add water 1T at a time, stir with a fork- just stir enough to mix it, if you stir it too much the dough will be tough.
Do this until all the dough is moist and you can form the dough into a ball.
Roll it onto a lightly floured surface.

I second the idea of using biscuit or canned crescent rolls over the top.

For pie crust I use the one on the can of Crisco.

I would double this, put half on top and half on bottom. We use double crust because my dh says it's the best part.

    Easy Pie Crust

    Ingredients:
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 teaspoons white sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    2 tablespoons milk

    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Place all ingredients in 9 inch pie pan. Stir together with fork. Pat mixture into bottom and up the sides of the pan. Poke holes in bottom and side of crust.
Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until light brown. Use as directed in favorite pie recipe.
