My wintery trip to the grocery store (Kinda long)
Thursday and Friday there was a big sale at a store about 30 minutes away. Of course we had to have bad weather both days. But we braved the bad roads and went. The trip took us about an hour in the blowing snow. But Ithink I did pretty good. I went in with a budgeted amount and onlywent over by a buck. My reciept is almost 4 foot long. (Yes D measured it lol) Just a few things that I got:
20 pounds of boneless skinless chicken chests-$20.00
4 ham slices-$5.00
3 pounds keilbassi- $5.00
5 pounds hot dogs- $5.00
10 pounds bacon -$10.00
8 sweet italian sausage links- $5.00
2 pounds american cheese $6.00
Campbells cream soups- .89 each
canned veggies- .44 each
huge bags of chips - 2/$5.00
Obiviously I can't list everyhting but these are a few of the name brand things I got. Superior bacon and hot dogs. Uncle charlies sausage ect. There was even 2 jugs of washer fluid threw in.. They name brand ice cream for $1.99 ( ususlly over $5.00/1/2 gallon). I just wish we would have had more money to spend. DH was sweating bullets going through the checkout.By the time the car was loaded we had it crammed full and left for home. An hour later after going through what seemed like a blizzard we got home. I don't usually shop at that store because of the distance and their prices are generally really high..I was really happy with myself. Now we just need maybe another gallon of milk and gas for the car until payday next week. This will last at least a month or more.

Sounds like you got some good buys! I hate driving in the winter and avoid it if I can...but, you have to eat.

Good sale on the chicken chests.lol Just teasing. Those are amazing prices. I went to Sams club and all their discount meat was gone. Sigh. I'll get it next time.

I am truly jealous of some of those prices. Sometimes a difficult trip is worth it.

I like your chicken prices also
I should check out the IGA store which is about 4 miles from where we live. They got turkey breast on sale this week for 99 cents a pound.
I stopped at a dollar store today, Real Deals. I found, one pound packages of bacon still in code, 8 days still to go, for $ 1 each.
I ended up with 40 pounds. Glad I had room in the freezer . And a few extra dollars on me.--------My signature--------

At least if we got stranded we wouldn't have starved til they found us. About every 3 months there are two stores that have these 2 day sales. Sometimes not as good but they always have the chicken for that price. This time though the one was 15 pounds for 20.00 and the other was 20 for 20.00/ Funny thing....the same people own both stores. My dad didn't like to say breasts so he call them chicken chests.
