    Thumbs down Ouchie!

I need to whine for a minute.

Thursday evening I spilled hot grease (really hot, had been flaming just seconds before) and it got the front of my thigh through my jeans. I have a nice 3" long burn on my leg now and it HURTS still. It doesn't help that there are 3 large blisters and lots of little ones. I keep them covered, but adding insult to injury I'm allergic to latex AND adhesive so no matter what I use, it's adding to my discomfort.

The best it felt was yesterday when I stayed in my jammies all day and left it uncovered. Can't keep it uncovered when I'm wearing jeans because the friction is awful

It's not infected or swollen (anymore, right after it was). It just hurts & I had to whine

Wow, that must have hurt. Do you have any aloe that you can put on it? See if you have any loose fitting pants even sweatpants if you need to go outside. Jeans sound very painful. Or a long skirt with knee highs.

Hope your leg feels better soon.

Ow - is right - ditch those jeans and get back into jammies. What a nasty burn. Do you have any aloe vera - plant or juice around? Stinks - but it sure helps heal burns. You can whine all you want. Please take care!!

What about cutting a "tube" from a lg mens sock or old leg warmer/legging to help hold on a bandage and keep it protected.

Oh you poor thing! I agree with the aloe. I keep a big bottle here for sunburns, burns, etc. It really does help.

I'm allergic to the the regular surgical tape but I can use the cloth tape. Have you ever tried that? If you can use it you can use it to hold a bandage in place.

Hope it heals soon! I can't imagine how painful that must be!

I'd get some non-stick pads from the drugstore and use an ace bandage to hold it in place...you might want to consider putting burn cream on it to help with the pain & itching.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I wish I had an aloe plant! My mom had one years ago and it really does work! I've been putting bacitracin on it.

Anything with adhesive (including paper tape) makes me break out & itch. Even ace bandage makes me break out because I'm allergic to the stuff that processes rubber & latex

That tube sock idea has a lot of merit! I'm gonna try it!!

once, while I was making biscuits and long story short (PM if you wanna know, funny as heck)I fell into the stove and burnt my chin, legs, hands realy badly. With blisters and everything.

I went to Walmart and got an Aloe with lanicane (SP?) and boy did it help!

    Sorry your burnt yourself.
