Default He finally completed some of his honey do list

So we have been in the house 6 months now which I am still in love with Well some of my walls were never finished being painted and the huge overgrown mess of bushes in front of the window just kept getting bigger. Well....hubby finished painting the dining room, hallway downstairs and DS1 room yesterday.Today he surprised me by cutting the bushes way down...now I can see out the front window. I am so pleased

I have a huge list of things for my hubby to do and NOTHING is getting done. He just looks at me and says "yes I'll do it" but never does. I'm going to get the stick after him today because he is going to get at least one thing done!

Glad you are enjoying your new home and getting things done!

    JOB JAR!

At one time I had a honey do list as long as my arm and even the thought of starting them made me want to sit down.
So I made a job jar with all the things that needed to be done. The rules I made for myself were:

One job must be finished per weekend.
If the job took more than a weekend, I gave myself the rule that I had to take it to a point where it was ok to stop, then the job went back in the jar.

No picking and choosing. If the job was picked I had to do it. Of course weather permitting.

No beer until after the job was done. I did this to myself because I tend to get lazy when I just sit and have a cold one.

Wife could add jobs to the jar and help if she was so inclined.

Amazingly, when I picked a job and it only took half an hour, I was so pleased at getting one done so quickly I often times would go pick another.

 I may need to re-start that jar this year.

I don't make up a honey do list. I just usually do it myself.
