Hello From the Sunshine State!
I came across this site a few nights ago. This looks like a GREAT bunch!! Full of energy and support! And some of the Challenges are what got me hooked. I'm definitely in for a couple of them!
As for my Introduction I'll follow the guidelines posted in the Sticky:
How did you hear about frugal village? Googling ways to save money.
What interests you here? The amount of activity on this board and some of the Challenges.
What will you contribute? Support, encouragement and little odd-ball things I have learned through the years that others may find useful.
Do you know any other members here? I don't think so.
How many kids? Ages? 5 but they are all grown and living on their own, 4 of them out of state and the other is not in close proximitey.
Tell us about yourself. Female, 40-Something. Love cooking, swimming and being with my DH. In addition, we are probably a little different than some on this board. We are "Preppers", as seems to be the new term. We are preparing our lifestyle and sustainability for more Long Term events. While we live in the city we are preparing Raised Beds for gardening and are allowed to have chickens (none as of yet but we are working toward it). We have ample Food Storage. I am a Home Canner and Dehydrator. We grind our own wheat and corn as needed. The current "Foodie" in me is taking a back seat as we can no longer afford all the frivolous ingredients. With that being said, the traditional "Foodie" in me is totally enjoying learning how to Can, Dehydrate and learn to use those foods in everyday meals.
Do you own any pets? 2 Chihuahua's
Occupation? Construction Administration
Married or single? Married
Interests and hobbies? Camping, fishing, educating myself in the ways my grandparents and their parents grew up and survived in troubled/hard times.
I'm looking forward to participating here. It looks like loads of fun!

Some Michiganders I see!! I'm originally from Michigan. Once a Michigander, always a Michigander!! I'd go back in a heartbeat if the economy wasn't so bad. I miss the fresh water, pine trees and SWEET CORN!! We get sweet corn here but nothing beats fresh-picked sweet corn from good old Northern Michigan dirt!
FrugalWarrior2...will do. Still working my through my forums and reading posts but I'll look for that forum. Thanks for the head's up!
