does it take an alarm clock to wake you or do you just automatically 'spring to life'
so how do you wake after a long restful (or not so restful) nights sleep....?
do you need the 'shrill' of the alarm to come to...or are you one of those with a 'built-in timer' and just wake automatically the same time each morning.....
are you a 'groggy' waker or do you hit the floor running....
i tend to wake on schedule every single day...(even weekends...boo)...and i usually hit the floor sprinting....

I used to use the alarm clock to get up at 5:30 in the mornings to get ready for work and get there early. Now that I work from home I wake up 7 days a week around 6:45 to 7:00 am. I am awake and ready for the day, no coffee necessary.

I used to be able to get up at the same time every morning and feel great. Now it takes my husband practically pulling me out of bed and then it takes me an hour or more to get woke up. I blame it on the Fibromyalgia, but sometimes I wonder if because of the Fibro I have just gotten lazy.

Wow, I'm going to blame it on the Fibro too because that's what I was going to say !!!
My alarm clock snooze button gets more exercise than me. Getting me out of bed usually takes a case of TNT... unless my Diva is in her room and whispers 'Momma' and I am out of the bed in a blink.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I usually have to go pee around 5ish every morning...LOL. That is my internal alarm clock. Sometimes I go back to bed, but most of the time ( on weekdays) I just stay up and do some things around the house..or I just play on the computer until it is time for everyone else to wake.

I get up at 6 to get the kids off to school. That's become my internal alarm clock time. Even on weekends I am usually awake between 5:30 and 6 to pee LOL. Sometimes I go back to sleep for a little bit, but not usually. The only time the alarm goes off is if I've had a really bad night and didn't get much sleep(like last night).
I hit the floor running usually. Get up, get online, wake kids, make breakfast, etc. No rest for the Mom!S

I need an alarm clock, but as soon as I hear it go off, I am up.
I don't think I've ever used the snooze button. My SO, on the other hand... hits snooze a dozen times, and it takes him about an hour to get out of bed from the first time the alarm goes off. It drives me batty! lol

We have two four-legged alarm clocks; they know when it's 5:38 every dang morning!
Most mornings dh gets up first and feeds them, and the cat. Occasionally on weekends I'll get up, feed dogs & cat, let them out to potty, and go back to bed for another hour or two. It takes me a while to get up & get going in the morning, regardless of the hour. Got my coffee & the computer and that's my a.m. routine.

Depends on activities night before and bedtime. I try to stick to routine times so when something breaks the pattern its easy to spot plus I need to take my meds at the right times. Routine is good for me.
I don't hit the floor running - unless I really have to piddle, then look out!! I don't wake up grumpy/groggy....I'm just quiet. I know I have to get up so why fight it? No need to celebrate the fact that I'm awake either LOL I just glide around quietly until I'm more awake then I'm a happy camper.

I too have a 4-legged alarm! Once daylight hits, my cat will either lay/sit on top of me or sit along side me staring at me and use her paw to tap me until I get up. I rescued her from our barn as a very malnourished kitten and she eats whatever you put out. Consequently she has to be fed limited amounts twice a day and when it's breakfast time she let's you know it! (Good thing I love that cat!)

Another Fibro person here. I used to ache so bad in the morning I hated getting out of bed. My dr just started me on a medication that I consider a miracle drug for the Fibro and now I'm a little more eager to start my day. I still have to use my alarm clock though, otherwise I'd never make it to work on time.
I've had Fibro for 15 years and only took Zoloft in the beginning for about 3 years and then just Advil and once in a while a steroide if I was having a bad flare.. I've gotten worse the last year and finnally asked the doctor for something. He gave me Cymbalta and I felt the difference the very next day. So far, amazing results.Be careful how you live your life, it may be the only gospel your sisters and brothers, neighbors, read.

Since I generally don't have to be at work until 4, it doesn't matter much when I get up. I do set the alarm on Sunday when I have to be in at 1:00 (just in case), and multiple alarms when I have the occasional shift that starts at 9 a.m (not nice) or 7:30 (brutal). I use two, not to drag me out of bed, but to be sure at least one of them goes off. On early days I'm opening, and can't be late. I usually go to bed around 3 am, get up around 10 or 10:30.
I hit the ground with a groan and a lurch and a hobble - getting-out-of-bed arthritis can be grim. I start the day with a cup of tea and some reading usually, except on those early shift days. It's not to wake up, but to start the day in a calm, self-collected way.Donna

I have an internal alarm clock, but it's permanently set for 10am. Usually one of the kids wakes me before that.
I definitely don't hit the ground running.

I wake up automatically at 6:30, then I stumble to the coffee pot. I search for turn on button, press it, then stumble to the computer, turn on it... Then wait. For the coffee, and computer. Even the dog and cats know not to come around me until the coffee is done.
