Do You Wear Makeup?
I turned 55 last month and am just a little more comfortable in my own skin. Because I work in an office I do wear foundation, eye shadow and mascara.
I just wonder why I still wear makeup and wonder how many out there do and if you quit wearing it - at what age.Be careful how you live your life, it may be the only gospel your sisters and brothers, neighbors, read.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've tried to wear makeup. It felt awful. Like a mask. yuk. Occasionally I'll wear brown mascara. And thats only when, in the summer my eye lashes have turned white from the sun lol. I don't care how hypoallergenic it is, it still clogs your pores. And when I see the prices of that stuff! I can't believe that women will pay for that crap. amazing. All because they've got it into their heads that they HAVE to wear it or they don't look good. Balderdash! They've been suckered into the myth that guys won't think they're cute or pretty. Such a waste of money. Why wear a mask in public? Be who you really are! Wash your face, put on moisturizer with sunscreen and be yourself!
Besides, the way I sweat from my BP meds and the menopause, it's a waste of time, money and energy.

I'm 57 and I haven't worn make-up for years. If I could see better, I would do mascara or even eyeliner once in a great while, but I can't see well enough unless I am wearing glasses, and if I am wearing glasses, I can't do my eye makeup. LOL!

I wear on the days that I work and when I'm going out. I've worn Mary Kay for about 20 years and have never had a problem with it.

At 58, I wear a dusting of translucent powder to help even out my skin tone because of rosacea. I use a homemade (coconut oil based) concoction as a moisturizer and treatment for the rosacea. I have thick, long, dark lashes, so have never bothered with eye make-up. No crows-feet, or wrinkles, probably because I always wear a hat when I'm outdoors to shade my face and avoid sun damage.

Only on very rare occasions. If I'm going to a wedding or funeral or to something special at the school I will put on a little. Or sometimes if I just want a change I will put it on to go to town. I don't really like the way it makes my skin feel.
At work I sweat like crazy so there would be no use!S

Nope I don't wear it anymore. I quit about 20 years ago give or take a year or two.

I don't usually. Once in a while, I'll throw on some mascara, but that's it.

I wear makeup daily and have recently been paying more attention to it - makes me feel all put together - kind of like wearing glasses or contacts - I like wearing contacts better. Don't feel bad about packaging myself!!
Always wear sunscreen even when at home.Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I won't go outside without it! I love wearing it because its fun. I switch it up according to my mood. For me it's not about wearing a mask or trying to be something I'm not. It's simply another form of self-expression, same as the clothing I choose to wear or my haircut.

I wear foundation and powder daily.
If I'm going out for dinner or something, anything above and beyond normal errands, then I wear eyeshadow, liner, mascara, etc.
I don't wear lip gloss or lip stick very often. I don't like it.McD

I've always hated the heavy feel of it and the way it both clogged my pores and then dried out my skin. I wore it as light as possible in my younger years, when it was expected for working women. Then at about age 35 I developed an allergy to it and got a rash that was so bad I still have faint scars. I have to be super careful about anything on my face now, even moisturizers and cleansers.
I can still wear eye liner and lipstick, but the new lipsticks make my lips dry and peel horribly after I wear it. I love the look of the new lighter, natural foundations, and the shimmery face powders and lipsticks, I just can't handle what the chemicals do to my skin.
And the prices... oh my!Use it up, Wear it out,
Make it do, Or do without. ~unknown
