    Wink It's very difficult......

to hang laundry on the line when your clothes basket keeps sliding down the hill on the ice LOL.

Since my dryer is out I waited to wash towels, sheets, blankets until today and tomorrow when the forecast said we would actually warm up and get some sunshine. I have two loads of towels out now. It was kind of fun to wade snow up past my ankles to get to the line! However the snow underneath the line has thawed and then refrozen into a sheet of ice. Not easy to stand up on! My clothesline is at the top of a slope and the basket kept wanting to slide down the hill.

Sounds like the making of a comedy to me. Did you have a musical background making it more funny? In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg would have been nice.

Do you have any access to sand that you could spread under your clothes line area...might help with the slipping.

I used to hang my clothes out year around and in Michigan that is a task in and of itself. My clothes line was also on a slope, so I know exactly what you are saying.

Its not fun hanging laundry out when it just plain cold, but you decided to add a slope w/ice... fun times! Sounds like you've invented a new winter sport! Honestly, seems you could win $10,000 on America's Funniest Video w/that one! Sorry your dryer picked such a bad time die, but that's always the way. Of course with that $10,000 you could buy a fancy, top of the line dryer & still have something left over!

My dryer isn't completely gone (I hope), but it's dying. I find that, if I run a load, and then let the dryer cool for about 3 hours, I can usually get another load going. Also, sometimes you can push the drum, and that seems to loosen up things so that the motor catches. Don't know if any of that would work for you, but it might be worth trying.

We had that happen last year. DH replaced the part for $30. He went online to trouble shoot it. You'll need make and model, then state the prob. We ordered the part online too. This year he does the washer, it won't second rinse. Old Maytag was amazing -new Maytag not so much. DH still thinks he can fix it for $90.
I'd get it fixed. A broken something will cost much more.
