Where are your favorite places to shop?
I was curious as to where your favorite places to shop where and why you like them.
Here are my favorite:
Groceries: Aldi's I love there low priced fruits and veggies they also seem to be what is in season and seem to be "more local" then from other countries. They also seem to keep longer than the produce from other stores. I however love the meat from our "local" grocery store that still has a butcher on the premise. More expensive but better tasting. Even better when we get it for our rancher friend.
Children's clothing: Goodwill, Salvation Army, local children's consignment sale, and second hand children store. Retail: it is Land's End and Hanna Andersson. Hanna has many cotton clothing which is kind on my daughter's skin.
Clothing for me: Goodwill, Salvation Army. Retail: Land's End, Jc Penney
Clothing for Hubby: Jc Penney
What are your favorites?

Groceries: Wal-Mart for certain basics, but not meat or bread. Costco for snacks, milk, and a few other items we regularly buy. Publix for their B1G1 deals and dog food. Local bread store for all breads. Farmer's market for fruit and some produce.
Little kid's clothing: My Kid's Attic- A local specialty store with the cutest handmade, monogrammed and smocked things.
Teenager's clothing: Abercrombie, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Dillard's, Belk's, Old Navy (although most their clothing does not hold up well - it is cheap and good for playing around in).
Clothing for me: Dillard's, Belk's, Old Navy
Clothing for Hubby: Dillard's, Belk'sDD (19)

For groceries, I shop at ShopRite. They have the best deals here in NJ, and I've shopped around. So, ShopRite it is for groceries, paper products, health and beauty products.
We've been very fortunate to not really have to buy kids clothes, as we've been continually gifted, over the years, with hand-me-downs. When we've had to get something, it's been at Target.
I love Target for everything else. There is nothing I can't find there (double negative...sorry) and the price is definitely right! My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

This is so interesting.
There are so many places that I have never heard of.
There are also so many that would be neat to shop at like Target and Kolh's (we do get to go to those store about twice a year as they are quite a drive)

Groceries - Walmart and Kroger in the next town, a little no name grocery in my town. I also like Dollar Tree and Dollar General.
Clothes - yard sales or the thrift store where my mom volunteers.
For new clothes we go to Walmart or Kmart. Dd likes clothes from Aeropostle, JC Penney and a discount place called Gabriel Brothers.
Dh and ds are happy with Walmart. For new clothes for me I usually go to Cato. They have big sizes in nice styles. I don't want to look like a 100 year old woman just because I'm big!S

I buy my groceries at Sobeys and at the discount grocery stores owned by Sobeys. Just because I prefer to support businesses based in the Maritimes when I have a choice.
I don't buy clothes often enough to have anything that qualifies as a favourite.

Groceries
Publix because of BOGO's, takes internet coupons, takes all coupons with a smile, has great advantage sales that last a month, great return policy, good produce and sale prices
Walmart because on a lot of things they are cheaper alot of things.
Sweetbay because they do meat markdowns and the meat is excellent. Great manager specials on meat.
Clothes
Penneys
Walmart
Ross
Marshalls
Dress Barn
But haven't been clothes shopping in ages. Don't need anything...maybe footies
Dollar Tree, Dollar General for the occassional drop in and check out what they have.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

groceries: kroger & burgers farmer's market. kroger has great sales prices, and farmer's market has low price fresh produce - and it's local.
clothing: America's Family Thrift. great thrift store, low prices and it's huge!
shoes: Rack Room Shoes; they offer a military discount, they always have a buy a pair, get a pair 1/2 off sale, and they are friendly.
books: thrift stores are my first choice; then The Book Worm, great local used book store! Otherwise, if I have to buy it new, there is Barnes & Nobel & they have great Bargain Books.
odds & ends: The Dollar Tree, it's just fun to rumage through every now and then to see what I can find. If I go for something specific, it's usually party supplies.
Pet Items: Tractor Supply. They've got it all. food, shots, dewormers, etc.
gifts, kitchen stuff, anything new that's needed: because we can't always find what we need second hand.... Target! Love Target!!Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Pets Die

Groceries: I like the Farmer's markets, but they are few and far between here. The few are overpriced 'yuppy marts' or far away and sadly, very bad quality because they are 'food stamp marts' (that was not meant as an insult, I've noticed a difference in quality in the markets that accept mostly food stamps.) I do my basic food shopping at Market Basket, but when I had a freezer, I liked buying my meat on b1g1 from Stop & Shop.
Diva's Clothes: She outgrows them so fast. I try to go to the Children's Orchard (re-sale) first. After that, I check the sales at Old Navy and look for clearances other places as well.
Old Man's Clothes: He wears a uniform for work. When he is not working I can find him in... his uniform
He does occassionally wear the pajama pants and shirts I bought at Kmart. I also check the sales at Old Navy for 'something other than that
uniform.
My Clothes: I'm short & fat... I am in shape, and that shape is round
My absolute favorite place to buy clothes is www.holyclothing.com but I also shop the clearances at Roamans when NEEDED.
Basic Household: Kmart - it's closer and cheaper than Walmart, but I will go to Walmart in NH if it's a bigger ticket item and I would otherwise have to pay the 6.25% MA sales tax.
Special Household: IKEA !!! A few times a year we drive there (Diva has a thing about the kids menu) and just walk around drooling at everything. My kitchen, 2 wardrobes, computer desk and assorted household items all came from there. There is a headboard/footboard set there that I am waiting patiently for.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!
