Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!
I am SO sick of snotty, hateful, RUDE customer service people! When did being hateful with customers become the thing to do???? I swear I've had to deal with this twice in less than a week and I am so tired of it! This past week I had a cashier in the grocery store get hateful with me because SHE rang my coupon up wrong! When I corrected her she got all up in the wind about it. Lady, if I hand you a coupon that clearly says 1.00 off and you only take off .39 I am going to correct you! I VERY politely told her that the coupon was for 1.00 off, not .39 but she had to be a snot.
Then this morning I had to call the unemployment office. I got a letter to call this week for an eligibility review. They do this once a year and it's not a big deal. WV has gone to using debit cards for unemployment instead of mailing out checks. If you file by phone on Sunday the money is supposed to be in your account on Tuesday. Mine isn't there today. So I call this morning. A woman answers and I tell her that I am calling because I got a letter telling me to call for an eligibility review. She says "an eligibility review???" like she has no clue what I am talking about. The she says in a VERY hateful tone of voice "call back in two hours when we MIGHT have a computer to help you!" OOOOK. I was so stunned that I actually said "excuse ME?" Apparently their computers are down, like that is MY fault!
Then I ask if she knows why the money wasn't put in my account, was it because yesterday was a holiday? She says "I have no concept." What?? You have no CONCEPT? What the heck does that mean??? Then she says "was yesterday a holiday?" Ummmmmm yeah YOU didn't have to work because it was a holiday. Didn't you wonder WHY you didn't have to work on a Monday?
I just said "yes it was a holiday." She says she has no idea if that is why my money isn't there. Call back in two hours! And she hangs up on me!
Honestly YOU work for a company. YOU should know or be able to put me through to someone who does.
I work with the public, and some nasty, mean, drunken public at that. I have had to clamp my lips shut and walk away from people before to keep from being ugly with them. The only time I will be nasty if I feel threatened. I did have to once this past summer when a huge mountain of a man came in spouting off and making threats and cursing at me. I jumped up and told him that I didn't make the rules, I just had to listen to buttholes like him mouth off when they didn't like them. Then I called my boss LOL. He told me later that when I got on the radio and said "come to my office NOW" and didn't say please or if you have a minute he KNEW something was up LOL. See how nice I usually am??
IF you work with the public please try to remember that you have a JOB because of the people who support your business. Without customers you would be out of work! Be nice!!S

The line is "If your tired of your job,I'll take it". Works like a charm. I was closed out of my job 2 years ago.
As far as some customer service goes, you may not be talking to the United States. But yes you would think w/ rates of unemployment this high and virtually no jobs people would kiss it but NOT. I feel your pain and frustration. I actaully say to myself OK now just remain calm. When I enter certain stores I need to shop at. (Kroger-it's being "remodeled).

Hear you on that!!!! Was at the bank once and the teller said she did not have any large bills that I wanted. So I stood there and said I can't believe how lazy you are. Can't even ask the person next to you.
Mind you at the bank the tellers are sitting there right next to each other. So she asked if I had an account with the bank. I showed her my card. Then she asked for the larger bills.
Really do not understand why some things seem so difficult to people.
Don't even get me started on the uninformed vet tech's.

I must get the luck of the draw or something, because the last time I had to deal with a rude customer/client rep was years ago...luckily! I did watch an old man bring a girl at Long John Silver's to tears...told her not to pay attention to the old goat...she said, "well he's old" and I told her that him being old didn't give him the right to be an a**hole or rude! Everybody behind me in line agreed with me & she actually smiled. Old man heard me flipped me a look and I flipped a look right back at him, onery, old jacka** any way!!!

What really frosts my butt is when they don't know the right answer but just feed you a line of crap to shut you up.

The one thing that gets me beside the rudeness of customer service today is "I don't know" and drop it at that...That was not an answer dureing the 30+years that I worked it.

My answer would have been, Im sorry you didnt get your deposit, but i will find someone that could answer your question.I find more rude people in the goverment setting, not all of them but most of them. Its like your suppose to kneal down to there ways and the way they speak to you.. I would have hung the phone up and called back and asked for a supervisor or even above that person.Im sure she was stressed if the comps were down and if the comps were down they could have gone down over the weekend ,that could be the reason why the electronic deposit didnt go through.

I've had my fair share of moments with the ignorant youth cashiers and my rebuttals of offering to take their jobs if they hate it so much.
Sometimes people just don't get it. Sometimes they are new. But what I keep thinking and have said out loud: "THIS is how you want to be treated if the roles are reversed?!?" That usually catches their attention.
BF on the other hand blows sarcastic sunshine up their butts regardless if they respond or not and its just too funny. Some catch on and their mood lightens up and some just go mute and do what they need to do until his turn is done hahahaha - makes me howl each time! Either way the tude stops and I get a stress relief break from laughing so hard

I finally got through to them. The holdup with the deposit is because yesterday was a holiday.
The reason for the letter is that they wanted to recommend me for a job. As a cashier. In a convienence store. At minimum wage. Nothing wrong with that at all but it's An HOUR AND A HALF from my house! Ummmmmm no thanks! I would spend far more in gas every day than I would make! It says right on my form how far I am willing to drive one way. GEEZ!
And the guy I got on the phone? He kept repeating everything in a whisper over and over and over as he was looking it up on the computer. I bet he repeated my name 20 times. And he had to ask for my SS number at least 6 times!S

He was something all right LOL. While I do appreciate that he got it all straightened out for me(and when I called him he was busy and had to call me back and did so in a very prompt manner) it was kind of weird to hear a man chanting my name over and over and over again in a whisper on the phone!

There's a lot of bad vibes out there in general, and it comes down to 'kick the dog syndrome'
... but to all those snotty, pompous, jackelopes who punch my purchases in to the cash register... if you KNOW you are going to work with the public, and you KNOW you hate anything with a pulse... may I suggest a job digging graves at night?
Sorry you had an
moment
