DD9 has a guardian angel
HOLY COW!!!
I am counting my DD9 blessings.
1:45am last night I wake to the sound of breaking glass. I go out to the kitchen/ living room to see if the naughty cat knocked a dish down or something like that. Nothing. I let the dog out cause he got up to help me. After he is done I go and check on the kids.
DD9 is sitting in her bed and says the ceiling fan fell from the ceiling! The lights breaking was what I heard. The fan missed her bed by a foot. The day before her bed was under the fan, she moved her room around to accomidate a tea party with her dolls.
She was so brave, didnt call out, didnt get out of bed, just sat there and waited for me. DH & DS8 slept thru the whole thing....
She went back to sleep after I cleaned up what glass I could see in the semi dark.
I didnt sleep a wink the rest of the night.

I do believe in such things. My DD stuck her hand thru a lawyers bookcase glass when she was little, not a scratch. Glad she was safe.

Wow! That happened to one of my sons and I once. We were sitting on the couch when the ceiling fan light cover fell about a foot from us and broke into millions of pieces. Would have caused a horrible head injury probably 'cause it was so heavy! I've always been a little wary of them ever since. Glad your daughter is safe!

Glad your dd is okay! That had to have really set your heart to thumping when you saw what had happened!

That will scare the stuffing out of you won't it?? We have that happen this summer. We learned that you are supposed to check the fans every couple of years for distressed parts - bolts and such especially.

Update: New fan was installed yesterday by landlady, DD went to bed with no problem, she "Supervised" the electrician while he installed the new fan and made sure it was secure.
All is well in her little world. She said an extra prayer of thanks last night.Katie ~ Mummy of 2
