Lots of people swear by tide........couple of my friends included.

I quit using it years ago - - think it is a very harsh soap.

But - maybe - since you still have some - use just a tiny amt. After all - you don't want to waste it!!

I can't believe how expensive it is for soap! Haven't ever used it, but I'll know to avoid it now. Sorry about your clothes

My husband is one of those who swears by it. It annoys me. I usually keep one bottle on hand for him to use when he does laundry. I wait until I have a manufacturers coupon and a Target coupon before I will buy it. I use my homemade detergent when I do laundry.

I use Tide - mostly out of habit. But my clothes will get really, really dirty from working in the field. Not just the wrinkle, maybe some odor or a dribble of somethingdirty. But dirt dirty, muddy and sweaty. Nothing would clean them well, except for Tide.

However, one thing I've learned is to turn my clothes inside out, to prevent fading. It really does help. I don't typically turn my work clothes inside out as they're already faded.

Don't think of it as fading... think of it as a whole new wardrobe

    Sorry

I actually don't care for Tide either. I use my homemade stuff and keep the same old un-faded clothes.

I LOVE Tide, but I only use it on my whites/brights/soccer stuff, etc. I use the cheaper stuff on jeans, towels.

Used tide when I was still smoking. Trying to hide the stink. Now that I stopped I use the cheapest detergent I can find.

I also think that some clothing is made "cheaper". Doesn't matter how much you spend the dye just does not want to stay on some clothes.

I found out DH was allergic to Tide, when for the first 3 mos. of our marriage, he was ITCHY!! (my mom had always used it, and swore by it, so.....)

Now, we have gotten by without it for 32 years, just fine! I know it has quite a following, but it isn't the only soap, and it IS expensive.

We use the "eco-friendly|" stuff from Sam's. It gets things clesn and I haven't noticed any fading.
Many years ago, when Tide first came out, I was a teenager. A friend and I used it to wash our hair. Just once. Our hair was clean, and shiny, and had so much static electricity that it crackled!

Tide is very expensive and very hard on your clothes. If you want sparkling clothes it comes with a price. Your extra money and needing to replace your clothes sooner. I wouldn't use tide if it was the cheapest detergent; who wants to keep replacing clothes at todays prices
