my son has curly hair and at certain lengths it is unmanagable...looks like he never combs it....sigh... what i do is wash and dry with a towel and comb and then scrunch it up and that is that.. sometimes a little gel works. I almost always have my hair up and with a turtle neck like you mentioned she will be fine...

I see you already got alot of good answers, but I just wanted to tell you about this hair stuff I picked up at Sally's that was so unbelievably good for de-tangling. It's called Shine, and all I did was rub in my palms and then run my palms over my girls' hair. The tangles literally fall out. Not that there's anything wrong w/VO5. I've used that too. I'm only mentioning this because it really was THAT good.

BTW, Your baby is so, so cute with those curls of her's. I bet the longer ringlets are adorable too! Hope when she's older she'll realize how "blessed" she is with that beauty.

That sweet little baby doesn't have enough hair to cover her neck! (from the pic).. You do what is best for that baby! It sounds like a control issue for your mama. I have the same prob with mine.. Don't use that on her, don't feed her that. It gets old, but when it comes down to it, you are her mama. If you want to put those little ringlets in a tiny pony, then you do it!

Maybe you should get a scarf and put it ...across your mothers mouth. That could solve the problem!

    Sorry, early morning humor.

Her hair is beautiful just like she is.

My dd had beautiful curly hair like that. It eventually grew and became uneven. I had it trimmed and all her curls fell out. I was so sad. It is straight as a stick now.

Sometimes grandparents want to still control their kids by telling them how to raise their grandchildren. You are her MOM. You do what you think is best. (((hugs)))

My advice skip shampoo like the others said use conditioner. Try a little olive oil a wide tooth comb and braid it after u wash it.
