Need sources in Richmond, Va.
I am asking anyone in the Richmond area if they have any ideas on how to help a person and possibly two to get an emergency place to stay with no money (until the 3rd of Feb)
This is my daughter (44) and maybe my grand daughter (20) to stay to get away from an abusive spouse. I'm at my wits end about this. Any suggestions will be appreciated--I just can't think anymore.
Thanking you in advance

I did a quick google search and this came up first ~ Safe Harbor Maybe your daughter can give them a call and see if they can help or where they can get help.
Sending good thoughts to your family!Nancy

I was going to suggest Safe harbor also. Is your daughter willing to file a order of protection against the abuser? If she did ,she is more likley get help from the police department and local womens shelter. I sure hope she does.

people or things.

Stupid Question, but have you thought of just driving there and picking them up? No place better than Mom's to cure what ails you.

I myself have to live with my other daughter because I have only my Social Security money. She has a house full and no room for my daughter in need. I will check on the Safe Harbor place. She just needs a short term help until she can get work and a place to live. My grand daughter may have somewhere with a friend so she may be ok. Thank you for the suggestions.

There is a National domestic Violence Hotline, 24/7.
Their number is 1-800-799-SAFE or 1-800-799-7233. Your daughter can also go to the police station and get resources on what to do.
The www.ndvh.org website is also the website for the national domestic violence hotline. Please let her know not to acccess the website if she's at a computer where her abuser can see her browsing history.
