what did you let spoil, go bad or just have to throw out today....?
we all do it...let those leftovers linger in the fridge for too long... or maybe an over-ripe fruit or soggy veggie mysteriously appears in the crisper... or maybe you tried a recipe, either new or 'tried & true' but something went terribly wrong.... maybe you left something to cook too long and only remembered when the kitchen started filling with smoke....or maybe it just 'tastes like crap'....
what did you have to pitch today...(to your great dismay)....
myself: i made some little pizza's out of sliced french bread last week...put the pizza sauce on the bread-- added cheese & pepperoni's and then baked in the toaster oven... they looked really good... froze them on a cookie sheet and put them in a ziploc baggie... the idea here was to just pop them in the micro for quick snacks.... but unfortunately when they thawed the bread was one big soggy mess...and they tasted terrible...i tried to 'toast' them back up in the toaster oven but now the toppings were getting burnt..... so out the back door into the yard for all the wild animals they went...
that's my 'bofu' for the day...
“After the last tree has been cut down, after the last river has been poisoned, after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money can't be eaten.”

A container of hamburger helper that I fixed for supper...ahem...more than a week ago shall we say. I just kept pushing it further and further back. I finally found it tonight with penicillin growing on it.
Wonder if I can stockpile homemade penicillin? hmmm....Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Today? Nothing. In fact, my father-in-law joined us for dinner, so I didn't even have leftovers from dinner.
However, the other day, I threw away a half a loaf of banana chocolate chip bread that came from a mix that I got for free from a company trying to persuade me to use them for a fundraiser. It wasn't fabulous, and after the first bites, no one wanted anymore.
So, I tossed it. Hated to do it, but no one was going to eat it.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

A partial package of sliced ham lunch meat. What a waste
I thought my son ate it, he had moved it from the drawer where we normally keep it and it got shoved back.
It sorta makes me feel better that I bought it during a b1g1 free sale, so I guess I threw out part of the package that didn't cost anything

No i didn't this week, But i do every so often. But my i went to my daughters last week and her house stunk and she count figure out why.. No trash, searched the kids room every where. Maybe something died? She called me the next to tell me she found the smell. A sweet potato had fallen behind the fridge and got stuck on the grill in back the fridge and the wall. The stinch was bad.. She buys only a couple at a time and she sat 1 on top away from the 2 year old thinking it was a ball.

Not today but a couple of days ago I found a container with a few canned mandarin orange sections. They were bright orange with pretty dark green spots.
It happens, and I have done much, much worse than that and no doubt will again.Donna

I threw away several lemons today. My DH brought them home from work about 2 weeks ago. U told myself everyday to at least juice them and freeze them if I wasn't going to use them right away. Well, I waited to long and they got rally mushy. So I had to toss them. What a waste!

A bag of salad mix that expired on 1/16 and was going brown in the bag.
A can of beef broth-the pull date was Dec09. Not sure how long after the date they are good. I don't like to take chances.

I usually do so well, mostly because I work from home in my t-shirt and shorts and don't feel like getting dressed to go out. I end up eating Breakfast, Lunch and dinner at home most times.
I had a Sams card that expired on 09/09, I noticed today I still have a huge block of cream cheese from there on the very top shelf as well as a quart of heavy cream. I am sure they are both well past expiration.
I have a recipe that I will post tomorrow for Grapenuts cereal that uses any soured dairy as long as its not molded. Would be great for the old sour cream or soured milk.
Also have one for Molasses cake that uses sour milk that is just as good.
