    Default Freecycle Vent

People can be so greedy. I listed some Newborn baby boy clothes on freecyle. Left my email in the ad. Someone emails within 2 minutes of posting. She said that she had her first grandchild due in June and this would help out alot. She asked if i had any others, I emailed her back and she was welcome to have the the ones listed. But i didn't have any others at this time. In my ad i said they would have to be picked up or i was going into the city around 6 if they wanted we could meet me at Aldi's. I just don't go to areas or people home that i don't know. She emails me, says she has friends over and there is no way she could come and get them or meet me, goes ahead and gives me her addresse and says looking forward to meeting you.. Ummmm lady you just don't get it. Here is the kicker couple hours later i was going through a box of items and found a small bag of newborn girl items, must have been stuff for ebay or something. Well i get back on freecycle and list i have a bag of really nice newborn girl stuff, but i had used my husbands email i was under his yahoo account. A few minutes later after posting i recieve a email SAME LADY. Saying that she had her first grandchild due this summer and its a girl and it would be a big help. I emailed her and asked if she just asked for some newborn boy items and she has not emailed me back. Im going to email the person who takes care of it for the county. If it was items for boy or girl, thats one thing but to email and same lines but different sex of the baby. I will just donate to the pregnancy center in the bigger town.

I emailed the cordinator of freecycle in our area. She did mention that im not the first to complain about the person. How can you ban someone, All you need is a new emal. She gave me her home addresse i looked it up on reverse search. It came back with someone different and the people that live in that house is all under 30. I say its someone getting stuff for free and reselling it.Its not the issue of reselling it. If you need the items great.

Unfortunately, its free and lots of people do just sell it on craigslist...

There has been lots of complaints about that here too.

WoW, that lady has a nice pair of brass ones, huh?

Not only did she want it for free, but wanted you to bring it to her. Come on!

I would have donated it to the center as well!

Takes all kinds to make the world go around! The lady was probably gathering up stuff to sell...either online or through yardsales/flea markets...

Your situation is EXACTLY why I wait about 24 hours and look over ALL the responses that I get. When I was cleaning out my mother's house the same two people would respond to my listings almost immediately.

Yes there are people on Freecyle are resellers. No you can't stop them. BUT you can be selective.

I called the pregnancy center, they are not accepting any more donations for clothes or baby stuff. They said they are so over welmed. Thats a good thing.I will figure something out. I mean these clothes are in perfect condition.Name brand items.

Greed...Me, I would put them in the car and when you finally see some poor woman or girl who definitely looks down on her luck, I'd take the bag and walk up to her. That's me. Then I KNOW where it's going.

Call a church or a school. Most of them would know someone in need.

If you can't donate to a specific centre, why not plain old Goodwill or Salvation Army or women's shelter?

I wonder if that lady who responded to both ad's - if her house looks like a hoarder's. I mean stuff does take up space and things don't sell like hotcakes the moment you list them, kwim? That woman is brazen, just b/c its free does not mean it comes with free delivery. And she tossed out an addy just like that w/o thinking!? Creepy!

If you're able and willing - can you take those gently used clothes to Once Upon A Child or somewhere similiar and get some sort of $ for them and beef up your EF, pay debt or donate that $ to a cause you support?

We had once upon a child, but they closed. I know i could get a few bucks for them.I know my church don't have anything but maybe pastor will know of a place. I would rather donate then to give to SA or GW. Some people can't even afford those places. It states in my ad that ALL ITEMS MUST BE PICKED UP!!If i was going to the town they were in then i would meet them. Aldis is right when you enter the town. She wanted me to drive to the other side of town to some area i have never been to. In the country. If the person would of said hey you know i can't meet you today, but can you hold on to them till next time and we can meet some where..

I agree with others that she is probably selling items she obtains. And the fact that she wanted you to take them to her--Grrr! That just ticks me off when people are like that. I'm glad you complained about her to the mods.
