Wow. Couldn't fry much at a time in that! On the other hand, less fried food - one of those depressing ideas that grownups are supposed to be in favor of.

I use my fryDaddy all the time...It is just DH and I and we can cook enough frys for one setting at a time. French Frys are fine in it..I have to make a couple 3 times for onion rings. I am on my second one as i burnt up the other one. I can put a couple small pieces of fish in it at a time too.

It works great for fish, although I usually cook outside. I'm the only one that eats fish so it works great for me.
It's very easy to use and clean up is easy as well.

Yes, it's small and I have thought about getting another one.

I've never used a Fry Daddy, do you have any tips or heed any warnings?

I have the fry daddy jr and it tends to run on the hot side. Keep a thermometer handy and check your oil temp before you put anything down in the oil Have fun and enjoy it.

I used one of the little itty bitty ones in college a few times. You may want to put some newspaper or towels down because it will splatter.

    Definitely get the thermometer.

Fried food actually picks up very little oil if it is done correctly. The hot oil cooks the food, which pushes out hot air, which causes bubbling. When the bubbling slows down and the food is golden it is done. Get it out of there! If it stops bubbling that means it is now sucking up oil and it will be soggy and gross. Don't let that happen.

Don't deep fry unless you can give it your undivided attention. No phone calls, no chasing kids, no tv on the side. 30 seconds is the difference between done and disaster. Likewise, have everything ready before you begin. All the food prepped. A plate to put cooked food on, your skimmer to get it out, paper towels for drips, etc.

Have fun! There's a lot you can do with a fryer.

I have the Fry Baby......they don't even make them anymore! I love mine! Takes very little oil to fill it and one basket full of potatoes will make some great fries!

Once you do fries in it - you won't do them any other way. YUM!

At least it dosen't take up much room to store. And keeps down the amount of fried food consumed

I had one that I gave away. I got one of the larger ones from GE that uses 5 quarts of oil (just like my car). I also have the turkey deep fryer that I cook fries in if I am cooking hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill for a crowd.

I had the tempature issues with the Fry Daddy and Grand daddy. I actually just use a nice heavy pot on the stove now.

Be careful if you do this though. If you have the oil in the pot really hot and you are on the phone talking to your aunt. You can poor some frozen french fries in and a large clump into the pot. The oil could splash and cover your whole stove top and then possibly catch on Fire. Then instead of spending the Saturday watching TV, you get to spend it painting and cleaning the soot off of the cabinets around the stove and the ceiling.
