Foods that make u feel Cruddy
Today was just 1 of those days.I have been doing so well eating healthy, today my joints hurt from all the lifting and moving stuff in the basement, so it was a comfort food day. Chips and Salsa 2x today. I'm feeling the bloating and headache. Eating salsa on other things does not make me like this, but with chips, only 2 bottles of water a extra cup of coffee, did me in!

Processed and/or artificial foods are the bad stuff here. I can tell if any of my guys have snuck a fake food and I bet they can tell if I have too.

Splenda! As soon as something containing Splenda hits my tongue it goes numb. My lips feel like someone with long fingernails grabbed them and pinch them in their grip and they go numb.
My idiot sister-in-law knew I was sensitive to Splenda, but thought it was just in my head. So one day she made "sugared almonds" with Splenda and had me try some, but didn't tell me they were made with Splenda. That first almond no more than hit my tongue than it went numb. I spit the almond out immediately and looked at her and asked if she was trying to send me to the hospital. She looked so smug, and asked what was wrong? "These were made with Splenda, weren't they?" She couldn't believe I knew, but my lips and tongue did as they went numb...
Cereal, like TOTAL, are fortified with so much chemical vitamins and inorganic minerals (which distress the digestive tract because they are difficult to digest), I get horribly sick about 30 minutes after eating it. I gave up all "fortified" cereals years ago.
I just avoid as much chemical "crap" in my food as possible.

Salt and Vinegar potato chips. I love them but when I eat them I get severely dizzy and have to go lay down. Once I didn't think I was going to make it to the bed before I passed out. Didn't pass out but sure wasn't far from it.
Once every couple years I "try" them again to see if maybe it would be different or maybe I just forget how bad it is. Always the same.Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

The only food that I react to is Rotel. I start to vomit about six hours after eating it. I haven't eaten it in years and do not foresee me ever eating it again. So, now I just enjoy my tortilla chips and Velveeta without the Rotel. I add Tostito's Mild Salsa when I want to put a little "umph" in my dip.

I forgot about that stuff.
I was at a ladies luncheon. Someone had made the most beautiful cake - it was magazine quality pretty. I took one bite of it and nearly gagged. Splenda! It so amazes me that some people cannot tell the difference between Splenda/Sugar or Vanilla/fake vanilla etc...even my kids will identify that something is "wrong".

MSG...gives me horrible headaches. Definite headache foods...salami (if I eat it I will have a horrible headache within 24 hours), soy sauce (I use it sparingly), Cheetos (love them but will pay if I eat them), sometimes cashews.

Definitely anything from McDonalds. It's what I grew up on, so I can't resist it once in awhile, but I always feel awful after I've eaten it.

Most fast foods... artificial sweeteners... too much sugar... real milk... highly processed "food" products.... I've been off this stuff so long my body can no longer handle it. Some of it will punish me for a few hours, some stays with me for days. Ugh.

Splenda doesn't cause me much trouble in the way of pain or adverse reactions, but asparatame gives me a headache. I try to stay away from all artificial sweeteners anyway because they're so chemical-y and terrible for you.
I keep very few processed foods in the house and only eat them once in a while, but after a particularly crazy few days where I ate some things I normally don't out of convenience, I definitely could tell a difference in how I felt.
Too much bread/flour/wheat/baked goods tends to cause problems too - not to the point that I think I have celiac or any sort of gluten sensitivity, but it just makes me feel bloated and generally crappy if I eat much more than one wheat-based thing every day.
I'm also sensitive to dairy...not a big problem now that I don't touch the stuff, but in the year before I went vegan I started to notice that it was becoming hard on my stomach.
And if I eat MSG, I can expect to have a nice headache for at least the next few hours.

White processed bleached refined flour. (bread & especially pasta, sometimes potatoes) My sugars skyrocket, I get dizzy and then I crash. Plus I get mega-perma bloat - bf joked that I looked preggers one time after eating 1 slice white bread toast at someones house.
I do eat the 'white' once in a while but I know the after effects and expect it. I eat 'white' sparingly if there's no other starch option.
The other one is MSG - my face goes hilighter hot pink and looks like I have perma-frostbite and a fever. And I can chug all the water in the world and still be thirsty after.
I'm used to splenda and aspartame but I only have it in pop and hot drinks sparingly. I don't always use them in coffee/tea etc.
