    Default Funny Frugal Moment

Last night my dh picked up
dinner when he got home he handed me the change sort of wrapped in the receipt.
Well this morning I couldn't figure out where I put it. Well of course I has thrown it in the trash... $7 in the trash.... Well my frugal genes kicked in and I fished around pulled it out washed it off in the bathroom sink and hung it up to dry!
Lol I'm sure my dh will have a field day with this.

I hope the stuff in the trash that you had to wash off was relatively benign. I've had a few refrigerator clean outs that I would just look at the $7 and decide -- stupid tax. No way I'm touching that!

My gram did a similar thing she was unpacking her croceries and she had her receit and $100 laying on the counter and she must have picked it up with the head of lettuce and put it in the crisper with it... We looked high and low for it and could not find it... She figured she must have picked it up and put it with the stuff to be burned..... About 3 days later i was taking the lettuce out of the crisper for supper and there it was... She was very happy..... But she laughed about it...and still does....

It is good that you found it!
My mom accidentally threw away several thousand dollars she had stashed. Her husband's daughter was coming to visit her and she didn't trust her so she hid the money in a box of curtain rods in the attic. She forgot to move the money back after the daughter left and when she moved from Vermont to Florida, she forgot the money was still in the box of curtain rods and tossed it.

After finding my engagement ring wrapped in the rubber band I used to re-wrap my mozzerella cheese, you can understand why I can so relate to this story!! I still laugh at my story too!

Another time, back when we were still living in Brooklyn, I had thrown out those blank checks they used to send you to use in conjunction with your credit cards. Well, I couldn't find them and suddenly realized I must've thrown them out. My hubby had already taken the garbage out, but in Brooklyn that means putting it into the cans that are lined up in front of the buildings. Well there just isn't any amount of pride that could have stopped me from digging thru garbage cans in broad day light right in the middle of NYC till I found those stupid things...lololol!!

My Aunt and Uncle thought they had been robbed of a couple Hundred dollars that my uncle had placed on the dresser. Then my Aunt looked at the dog and he was happy, too happy. She took him for a walk and watched him do his business, it was like a very wrong ATM....

My Aunt washed the money and ironed it, then put it in the bank!!

We still laugh at that and its 25 years later.

Im glad you found your money.
