Tax Money
If you are due an amount back from taxes, what are your plans?
This year we are using half for ortho and half for debt. Not fun, but the grown-up choices

Some to savings for April car insurance
Some to IRA
Take some in cash: set some aside for emergency cash; some for "running" money (I don't use much cash) for two or three months, and get 4 or 5 rolls of quarters for laundry since it's such a pain to get by the bank to get them. That will be laundry for quite a while
Earmark about $150 some for stockpiling in Feb/Mar
With this breakdown, it leaves about $6. I'll blow that on a fast food meal someday.Donna

Pay off 401K loan and get a bigger one to pay the last of my unsecured debt off. I will be cutting $400 a month out of my expenses and better yet the interest I will be paying is going to ME!!!

I traditionally dump it into savings. It may become a tropical vacation, DH has been hinting a lot lately.

We only get $500 or less back...finally got the w4 figured out so they don't get to keep my money interest free all year! After we pay the state taxes, what little is left will go into the EF.

After I posted earlier, I started writing the checks and making the envelopes to mail. As soon as I get confirmation that refund is in the bank, I am popping these babies in the mail!!

Taking some to pay down my Target Visa (in half actually) and putting the rest into savings. Some will not agree with this, but at least by adding to our EF, if DH looses his job, we will have 6 months of house payments sitting in an account. AND it will be the first time our savings has ever seen the 2k+ mark

We are going to use ours to pay off the Trans Am since we just acquired another car loan. We are going to sell the TA once it is paid off.
