I can totally relate to that! I see cash as if it is "money already spent" too. I focus on my bank account balance that I check online nearly daily...so if the money is actually in my wallet, it's already "gone".

    I only have one weakness.

I need a new washer, but its still half way working so I have no intentions on buying a new one until it completely dies. My TV is over 10 years old and was bought refurbished then. It's way too small for my living room, but that dosen't bother me enough to buy a new one. Cat dosen't get treats other than the water from a can of Tuna that I open.

My one weakness is Food. I love food. I can be eating and while I am eating be thinking of what I am going to eat next. I love all candy. Can't wait to try something new. I will gladly cook 5 meals a day and invite anyone and everyone in my house to break bread.

In with food is tools to prepare food. I have pretty much all of the kitchen tools you can think of, and the ones I don't have are on the list to get. I can look at a very expensive item and know that I would only use it once or twice and still be perfectly happy buying it. If I have a tool but see a better one, either with more options or a better brand name I will gladly buy it.

I have hundreds of pieces of cast iron including a few pieces of Le Crueset coated cast Iron. Guess what I told BF I wanted for Valentines day? A new bigger Le Crueset pot.

When I go on vacation I am perfectly happy staying in the hotel, but you better bet I am going to get a souvenir at the nearest outlet store. AND its going to be a cook book or new tool. Last year it was my first piece of coated Lodge.

    1. Convenience foods @ grocery store.
    2. House stuff. Would rather have this than clothes or makeup ANYDAY.
    3. Fast food. Our crazy schedules and my failure to plan is making things worse.
    4. Housewares @ Goodwill (when I already have stuff to remake)
    5. DH. Sorry, rcannon, but I gotta agree. The man loves his snack foods, magazines, techy gadgets, and random items from Auto Zone.
    6. Crafting supplies (although I'm trying to reroute the desire to do or make towards fixing/painting around the house so that it's more productive)

That's all I can think of for now.

Just trying to keep on keeping on!

    1) Magazines - I love them, especially cooking/food magazines.
    2) cat treats for my furbies
    3) fountain Pepsi
    4) fast food, even though we're trying to cut down. I've tried making bean burritoes like Taco Bell, but they're not even close
    5) pottery bowls (or really any antique/stoneware/pretty bowls) - it's pretty much evolved into a fetish at this point

    1) Eating out
    2) Going grocery shopping while hungry or without a list
    3) Dh-if I let him have his way, he would go out today and buy a new laptop, a new TV, a new internet modem, new shoes and new pants. I am currently making him save his money so he can go buy a new laptop. The stuff we have is fine, but he doesn't think so. He has the "if you want it, then get it" attitude.
    4) Food that goes bad in the fridge.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels that way about cash! You took the words out of my mouth!! I feel like cash is monopoly money. It's already out of the bank account, so it doesn't count?! I thought I would be flamed for the cash reference

    1. "loaning" money to family that doesn't get paid back
    2. not investing in things like new windows that would pay off in the long run - (I didn't know I'd live in the same house for 25 years!)
    3. taking too long moving underperforming investments
    4. impulsive buying of toys for my grandkids

sauces and marinades--I'm a sucker for a good sounding bottled sauce.

wine---I probably only have 2-3 glasses a week, but I like the fairly good stuff.

    yarn--enough said

chocolate truffles. Oh my. Is there a 12 step program for this?

Books. Books that I want to own, not borrow. Classics.

As a matter of fact, while walking home today from getting my hair done I thought I could stop by the diner or stop at the thrift store since I had some bucks in my purse. Even though that money is for lunch next week at Olive Garden. Luckily I was able to control myself and just went home.

I think my biggest indulgence is stopping by the thrift store when I have a couple extra dollars. I know this is getting a little out of hand since I found a sweater I completely forgot that I had. Meanwhile a voice is saying that since I lost weight many pieces of clothes are to big for me and that I need clothes that fit. Finding clothes with their tags still on just makes the item even more appealing.
