    Default My Frugal Houseapes :)

I had a good laugh about this....
My "Terror Twins" (share a birthday 2 yrs apart), ages 6 & 8 were outside on the patio today & asked me..."Mom, can you buy us some more chalk so we can draw pictures out here?" I had to tell them that they had to wait until the next time that I went to the store.a little while later I looked out the window & I saw them collecting caliche rocks.(Sometime ago, they discovered that caliche rocks make very nice pieces of " chalk"). I asked them "what are you two doing?" They proudly informed me " Mom, you don't have to go to the store now & spend money- we found some chalk!"....and now, my patio is nicely decorated with their artwork Just had to share

That's what we used to do! And pieces of red brick would make 'red' marks. Only the rich kids had shop bought coloured chalk!
