    Default Crud i lost the window receipt!!!

    UGH I managed to misplace the receipt for the new windows we put in last summer. It makes a quite significant difference on taxes due to the credits. I put a call into the contractor hoping he can get me a copy.

    I have torn through everything looking! I can not believe this is not in my folder. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Is it mixed in with something else you were doing around that time..grocery shopping receipts? Have you been able to find the original paperwork that was supplied once the windows were done or was the receipt stapled to that??

    It was all together. However I have the receipt for the doors in my tax stuff.

    I even looked in the trash. Hope he can get me a copy

    Did you pay with Credit card or just a check? If Credit Card then the CC Company can send you one.

    I wrote a personal check. As I understand it I need the copy of the actual purchase price receipt ( the labor $ doesn't count) of the windows to use the tax credit. It is a 30% credit . Quite a chunk of change.

    Frugalfriend I thought about it. I know the contractor will be out our way sat. If I don't hear from him I'll call again. I know he has a copy. The tax credit is 30% back so I sure want that receipt
