temp job
I got a call from the census. I got a temp job with them. Yeah!! I have training in a couple weeks for 4 days and then find out the rest of the info for the job. It is only for 6 to 8 weeks but it is $10.50/hour. That will go along way to paying down some debt. woo hoo.

Congrats!
What do they do about the driving you might have to do in your area? Or will you just stay local?

The roads here are pretty well marked so hopefully I won't have much problems in finding addresses. If I do, mapquest here I come.

Congratulations! That's great. It should come to a decent chunk of money to use. Hope you enjoy it

I did this with the last census. I got an office job and opted to work swing shift, so I got pay differential. It was THE most boring job I've ever had (fact checking, inputting info) but it paid for new carpet in our (old) house!

Finished the training for the job. I think I am really going to like this temp job. I can work what ever hours I want as long as it is 20 hours minimum but absolutely no more than 40 hours a week and I get paid from the minute I drive out of my drive way until I get home again and I get 50 cents a mile (that is tax free) I will probably make more in mileage than hourly.
